Covid and Work, Covid Advice and General Chat

I would call your Union rather than email as they can be delayed in getting back to you. I would call and be proactive and insist that they help as after all I suspect you pay a premium to be a member. I don't want to overload you with information as it's down to your Union to do that but two...

Covid and Work, Covid Advice and General Chat

You need to contact your Union, if you have one, asap and get their advice on this. You also require an Individual Risk Assessment which your Union will also be able to help with. If I were you I would also just wear a face covering yourself if you want to as you are safeguarding yourself...

Covid and Work, Covid Advice and General Chat

The thing is the Government bringing schools back is "absolutely nothing" about education, it is so parents can go back to work pure and simple. If it was about education then the government would have concentrated more on education "prior" to the pandemic but schools have been the subject of...

Result came back and thankfully on this occasion negative. Credit to them certainly in this area in the South that's less than 24 hours between test and result.

Well had the test done. Oh what joy with masked foreign gentlemen with difficult accents barking instructions to a deaf person through a closed car window!! Must have misheard because when I dropped my trousers I got a funny look!! Kidding obviously! Hope I waggled the stick long enough as...

Well 111 rang. To start with she didn't seem concerned but then changed tack and said as I was diabetic then in her opinion I should book a test. So managed to book a test locally at 11.30 today.

Will coffee and a fag do?! In all seriousness I think it shows how confusing all of this is. Ordinarily I wouldn't bat an eyelid and put it down to that rather bitter apple I had last night because for some reason I couldn't be bothered to eat anything else. Loss of appetite anyone>! I'll...

Covid and Work, Covid Advice and General Chat

Well, nothing to do with yesterday as it would be too quick, but just rang my absence line at work as I have had a pretty uncomfortable sleepless night with what I can only call an awful metallic taste in my mouth. Of course popped onto Google and both Coronavirus and Diabetes came up so will...

Well an interesting day today. First an X-Ray at hospital. All wearing masks but it got a bit crowded in the waiting room so pleased I was called pretty early. Then tonight idiot here lost his wallet outside a shop. Cancelled all cards then got a message that my wallet had been handed in...

I think what is most frightening is that is has taken from March till October for some of the greatest minds in medical science to work that one out!!! Dr John Campbell was saying in his videos back in February of the real possibility that aerosol transmission was one of the main problems with...

Interesting article that suggests to me that what employment you are in should very much matter when it comes to assessing a persons risk. Hence my concern at schools. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/sep/19/scientists-criticise-uks-hands-face-space-campaign-to-control-covid-19-coronavirus

Pain in muscles and bones, diabetes related?

Wouldn't be at all surprised if that could be the cause as so much is going on, as per my other thread. Will speak to the doctor on Monday when he rings and see if stress could be the cause.

Pain in muscles and bones, diabetes related?

Well my Vitamin D results are back, although they bizarrely appeared on the Patient website rather than via the receptionist who said they weren't back!! :banghead: Could actually see my old results as well which were interesting. Serum total 25-OH vit D level 74 nmol/L 50 - 120...

True, however it can be argued that vocation or environment can dictate levels of viral load if you do contract it. Considering viral load can be linked to severity of disease there is an argument that occupation and environment could be included.

Totally agree with you both. Half the problem is that the "family GP" is long gone. I used to visit the same guy, year in year out, and he knew me inside and out (not literally!!) An unbelievably empathic guy who just knew what to be worried about and what not to be. I'd visit him about...
