JOURNALIST -Pharmacists role in lifestyle medicine

Hello everyone - I've been contacted by a Freelance journalist who is writing a piece about Type 2 Diabetes for a pharmacists trade journal and specifically on the role that Pharmacists could play in helping to promote lifestyle medicine treatment options such as Low Carb. She contacted me to...

This thread is now up to page 2001. A space odyssey My own journey into the unknown brings me a 5.9 this morning. My 7 day average is better than my 14 day average, which is better than my 30 day average, which is better than my 90 day average...heading in the right direction despite the...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.8 today Am currently reading Zoe Harcombe's The Diet Fix, which I acquired out of interest, not because I feel I need it. It is an interesting read and contains a bunch of recipes as well. I'm not promoting it, but thought I'd share a couple of observations: What I've found most interesting...

    Type 2 Reading

If your BG's are high then your body will try all sorts of ways to get rid of it. Which means you might wee a lot, or sweat more or create more saliva. All of which is using up water in the body, which can leave you dehydrated. That can cause headaches. There may be another cause, but it will...

Type 2 uncontrolled. Supposed to be starting insulin.

Hi Irv - I won't add to the advice above because it will contain what you need to know, especially when Daisy's pack comes through. I did just want to say that you are obviously very worried, and it must have taken a lot of courage and emotion to write that first message on here...it brings back...

    Pre diabetes

May we ask why you are housebound? People on here can give good practical advice (not medical advice) on helping to manage blood sugar but it helps to know if there are other conditions which may affect that. You might also want to look into what local diabetic support networks exist (eg PALS) -...

    A T2 Newbie

Hi - I wrote a blog about my first 50 days post diagnosis. I completely get why it takes a bit of time to get your head around the diet changes. That's entirely normal, but you can get there in steps, and once you do you won't look back. Here is a link to the blog, which may resonate...

Well done- gets expensive doesn’t it. The hard thing is working out what size you will settle at. Easier for men I think

    Reactions to diagnosis.

do you test your blood before and after meals? it's a good discipline to educate you how your body reacts to food. Hypnosis is about conditioning your mind to alter its motivations. Blood testing has a similar effect - like the flash in the rear view mirror when you go through a speed camera.

Fantastic- well done. Question: if you fill a suitcase with things so it weighs what you have lost, can you lift the case off the ground?

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Isn’t it just. I went from XL to M last year in 5 months. And then i ordered a sports top and the supplier sent me a small by mistake. I thought I may as well try it on - it’s a bit figure hugging but for training it’s great. Made my day.
