I had chicken breast pieces 200g, and 60g soft cheese and cucumber. It went down at 2 hrs testing to 8.4 but then back up at bedtime even tho I hadn't eaten anything after. I did have some no added sugar dilute juice to drink which made me think of the sweeteners.

I think I'm a long way off any hypo risk at the moment. Lots of hard work to do. Yes, doing a test for drinks is probably a good idea. I've ditched the takeaways, fizzy drinks, milk, all the breads (except the 1 sandwich), potatoes, pasta and rice. I've had things like bacon, omelette , chicken...

Ive been having readings of between 14 and 12 on a morning, fasted. And usually between 7 and 10 on a night. Testing through the day before and 12 hours after and the results vary. I can't put my finger on the culprit. I've had meals with virtually no carbs and they have still risen after a 2 HR...

Hi everyone, so..long story short, I've been diagnosed a few years now. I've been very ignorant about having type 2, I go through phases of being good ...and phases of not at all. I've never had good numbers though. It didn't effect me so I didn't bother, or so I thought, until last week...

    High hba1c

This was a finger prick test. I have the accu check instant, its just linked to my phone via Bluetooth so I can record readings. So far my highest (apart from this one) is 21 and my lowest was 14.

    High hba1c

I had a small bit of birthday cake yesterday...I know I shouldn't have had.. but didn't expect this reading today. I think I'm doing something very very wrong here. Strangely enough I feel absolutely fine, apart from the day to day diabetes symptoms, could this be a wrong reading?

    High hba1c

Thanks. Ive been using canderel, and a Stevia type, which I've discovered has dextrose which I didn't know at time. I might try hermesetas if I get desperate for a tea but I think at the moment I will just try manage without and see what happens.

Thank you. I'm not interested in any form of baking or making any healthy versions of treats, so I guess it's not going to be much of an issue to completely cut them out.. also, I don't want to get into keto foods and bars etc, I would use them in excess as an excuse! My willpower is poor to say...

I will. The fluctuations are between 16 and 21 at the moment. But will give it time. Out of curiosity, what else could it be?

Also, anyone any advice on sweeteners? Should I cut them completely? It's aspartame, acesulfame k and sucralose..... Sweeteners I use in my tea and dilute. I've read they don't raise blood sugar but wondering if that fact or fiction. Thank you.

She's running some more bloods as I also have rapid hair thinning and loss. No the weight loss was a suprise and my diet was of a greedy piglet who hadn't believed diabetes was part of their life. I do believe I have a sugar addiction. It's hard but needs must now. I lost it in about 6to8 months.

Hi everyone, I hope your all well? sorry it's been a long wait for reply, I seem to have issues posting sometimes?! Anyhow, thank you everyone for your advice. I have read through everything including the blog links and now have a better idea what I need to do. I've now got a glucose monitor...

Good morning everyone, this is my first post here. I've been t2d for coming up to 4 years. My hbac1 is usually between 49 and 61. I'm not medicated, I was given Metformin 2 years ago but stopped it due to excessive stomach pain. I have just had another hba1c and it's come back at 119.. I know...
