Just when you thought the pathetic comments were over and then today happens. Drank some of my pepsi max, teacher thinks it's a sugar drink, people say I'm diabetic and the teacher goes, "Haha, nice try" and then goes on to say I should be drinking water if I'm diabetic - f*** off....

    Type 1: Tips?

Hi :) It would be best to separate your insulin/testing strips, etc in different bags. If you put them all in one bag and lose the bag, you have a problem. If you spread it all out and lose one bag, at least there's another bag full :)

What is the lowest your blood sugar has been?

Oh my goodness, all these low hypos - there will be some days where I know I'm hypoing and then some days where I don't notice it at all until I stand up!

What is the lowest your blood sugar has been?

Oh no, don't say that. Was only placed on the Omnipod today lol! And sorry to hear about that very severe hypo. Who called the paramedics?

I've had plenty of people say that to me and it doesn't bother me, I just smile and chuckle lol

It made my blood boil, if it was in person guaranteed I would've stuck a needle into her and put her into a hypo

    Ignorant comments

I keep posting here but I can't stop! I love the community too much! So my latest question is has anyone been told something nasty about their illness? *Incoming rant* I had a girl, who I hadn't of spoken to in over a year, message me telling me my diabetes wasn't a big deal, type 1 was...

GUYS! hahahaha... I know it's bit mean, but what would you guys do? Nothing related but I need help

A few days after I was diagnosed and told my mates about it, one of them thought it would be acceptable to fake a health condition to get more attention than myself.

    Freestyle libre

Agreed! When we had to buy a new sensor and wait for a few days and go back to finger pricking, I felt as if I was losing control because with the Libre, I constantly scan myself whereas I don't constantly finger prick as I despise it :p Good luck on your HbA1c!

    Freestyle libre

Lol, I guess I've been misusing the sensor! I don't seem to finger prick, just cure my hypo/hyper. Naughty me  It is DEFINITELY worth the price I, too, was also on the trial for 6 weeks. I think it will be on the NHS soon considering they were doing the trials. First sensor stayed on...

Type 1: Do you ever think 'Why me?'

Sounds crazy but sometimes I think it's Karma for something I've done wrong in the past.

What is the lowest your blood sugar has been?

Strange, was out having my tea when my freestyle libre read "LO" and then a few minutes later read 2.4

    Type 1: HbA1c

@db89 my mum is pretty sure that my honeymoon period ended over christmas because my blood sugars were all over the place and the amount of insulin I was giving myself was not working :( @les74 I haven't done anything different to control my blood sugars, I've only done what @azure has mentioned :P

    Type 1: HbA1c

@dbr10 Thank you! @les74 Just frightening myself and reminding myself of the complications that can follow if not under perfect control is the trick ;)
