Suggestions for light low carb after severe gastroenteritis

Any ideas gratefully received ...Eggs excepted as they caused the problem in the first place ... May be a while before I can look an egg in the face again even as an ingredient. Surgery nurse (who said something along the line of "your blood sugars will be pretty low after nearly a week of no...

    Feeling confused.

VERY WELL DONE from me :-) My locum doctor was very enthusiastic about low carb. Diabetic Nurse not so much. Diabetic Nurse is kept happy by my saying I've reduced my carbs "a bit" ... Not going to tell her to usually about 20g daily and some days even less...

How do you work out the percentage of the carbs in diet?

You can use an app like my fitness Pal to log your food and there is a setting somewhere that will show your percentages ... Can't remember where exactly - sorry. Watch out for some of the values of food on there that have been put in by other users - always check against the packaging

More Support, less Advice for Newbies

More Support, less Advice for Newbies

BTW - I use the forum mainly on phone or tablet - signatures and member info isn't visible on these so posters in apps may not be able to check the newbie's type of diabetes nor their signature if they have one.

More Support, less Advice for Newbies

Late to the discussion but as a newbie (to the forum rather than diabetes) I lurked for ages just reading and assimilating info given in various posts. Not everyone would do this but I suspect many would so the dietary advice etc may well be taken on board indirectly. Perhaps posts by newbies...

6.7 @ 6.45am - back from our fabulous holiday to Oz. Just about over the jetlag. Such an amazing country! Kept to low carb despite several hotels only offering continental breakfast with no low carb offerings - room fridge often stored a chunk of brie for me to eat! Many more choices in...

Do you carry low carb snacks with you ?

That's a handy tip - just finished a mountain of work and am now packing for a month long trip to Australia and Dubai. I tend to just skip lunch now but usually take half a dozen pecan nuts and a Babybel to work with me just in case. Off to Google a 9bar
