    Pump Referral Appointment

I've got the book on my android smart phone so just wading my through it. I went to the appointment and from the discussion with the consultant I suspect I don't fit the criteria. Given adjustments to make and an appointment with Dietician and DSN in December. Further appointment with...

    Pump Referral Appointment

Thanks for that info. I have already done the DAFNE course so got that one ticked, so to speak. I realise it requires a lot of work so was just trying to arm myself with information before I get there on Monday.

    Do you ride a motorbike?

If only life was risk free. You can take your chance and venture out and risk being run over by a bus, car etc or you can stay indoors and live forever!!! I used to ride motorbikes, if only I could have another, and currently ride the boy in my profile pic.

    FreeStyle Libre - New user

One of the cons I have found is that any discounts i.e. free postage seem to be notified just after I have ordered or the offer runs out just before I am due to order again.

You can still drive a 7.5T as you have "grandfather" rights. However, you will have to have a yearly medical and complete the questionnaire. You will also have to demonstrate you have been testing your blood sugars, every day and at least twice a day, over the last 3 months (don't quote me...

    Job dilemma

Go for it. Just make sure you have access to this site as you will have loads of questions that won't get answered by the medical profession as quickly as posting on here. Make sure you get your prescriptions sorted out and sign up with a doctor or healthcentre near where you are going to be...

Scared to put in sensor. Frustrated with type 1

Hi Rachel, I agree with everything above. I started using the sensor last year and went mad with scanning, adjusting etc. After talking to my diabetic nurse I have become more relaxed with scanning and it has stopped the over adjustment side of things and therefore less hypos. Its a very...

    Hypos at work - discrimination.

I really feel for you with this but one of the things you don't mention is about whether you or your daughter told everyone she was diabetic when she started the job. It is in your own best interests to tell a few people, if not all, you are diabetic and what your symptoms are when you are...

My mother is closed minded to my condition sometimes...

Not sure how old you are or how long you have had Type 1 diabetes but you could consider changing your insulin regime to 4 injections a day something along the lines of novorapid/lantus. I was originally put on 30/70 but changed over to 4 injections which gives me much more flexibility...

Feel a bit silly ... But I need to talk it out!

I've completed the Dafne course as well and it did improve things but didn't make me perfect. To be perfect takes time and sometimes we are just too busy getting on with daily life. My HBA1c has finally started to come down but only due to regular blood testing and adjustment if hi/lo. I've...

    Dvla class 2 lgv licence

Just going through the process of renewing my Class 2 licence. In my experience I have found that as long as you can provide the 3 months of monitoring on your test machine and you haven't had any hypos that needed assistance you should be OK. My licence expired last year and I needed it when...
