But only diabetic type 2 around 4 weeks. Has your diabetes had periods of good control? Do you agree that your in...

    I dont get hungry

Not at all, it's all too easy to slip into bad eating habbits I've been doing it all my life! Every so often I get determined and behave and loose a few stone but then it goes back on and more. But I've realised I can't afford to do that now. This has to be my last diet or I will get diabetic...

Dumplings? Friend determined to sabotage Diet

I have that throwing up problem with butternut squash but people seem to accept that easier! I guess because allergies are quite common these days, maybe? My mum was diabetic but used to eat everything regardless, provided her wee sticks were fine the day she went to the nurse on her annual...

Dumplings? Friend determined to sabotage Diet

I can't just eat it, I've been four weeks binge free, I know the only way for me to keep that up is to avoid those foods altogether. I know it's not the same but for me its a bit like being an alcoholic, once I taste them again I loose all control and it can be weeks before I get it back again...

Dumplings? Friend determined to sabotage Diet

I've tried pointing out things on the menu when we go out for a meal that I can't, she asks questions but it dosn't sink in. It dosn't help that another friend has also been recently diagnosed type 2, but she's not taking it seriously and still eats everything! So I guess my friend is getting...

Dumplings? Friend determined to sabotage Diet

Hi, Unfortunately or fortunately depending how you look at it most of my friends like me have mental health issues so I have to tread a little delicately at times like these. Also I'm a binge eater on any thing, but especially carbs and sugar. so temptation is in overdrive lol. But I'm trying...

Dumplings? Friend determined to sabotage Diet

Hi I know but its so difficult, I don't want to loose her friendship as she understands me on so many other level's. I've tried talking, making suggestions etc maybe I should print some info off for her, but I don't want to make life harder for her, she already puts herself out for another...

Dumplings? Friend determined to sabotage Diet

I've tried talking to her several times and making alternative suggestions. I know she's trying to find 'winter warming foods' now the weathers got colder etc. But it's not sinking in. I guess all I can do is keep trying.

    I dont get hungry

Hi, Relatively new to all this, but like you I never feel hungry! One thing I have learnt over the years; and more importantly now; eating 3 meals a day is essential on any diet. As I cant judge mine by hunger pains I try to do it by the time of day. So I will eat when I get up, also around...

Dumplings? Friend determined to sabotage Diet

Hi All, Is it possible to eat Dumplings and stew on LCHF diet? I have a friend who despite knowing I'm recently diagnosed type 2 and the diet I'm following, keeps trying to sabotage me every thursday. I go to hers every week for dinner and then on to the local quiz night. Last week she dished up...

    T 2 - Binge eating

Thank you. Maybe preparing a batch of meals in advance and freezing them or making enough for you and your family to eat together may be an idea. I know its so difficult when it's the last thing you want to do and your feeling depressed. But I guess we both need to take extra care of ourselves...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning, Got through the night ok, checked my BS at 4.45am it was 6.3 and again when I woke finally at 10am, BS was 6.8 so they obviously (for me anyway) go up over night which seems a little strange! I last ate and took my metformin at 7.30pm last night. Is the rise normal? Arn't they meant to...
