Some Info On The Freestyle Libre If Anyone Knows

I have another question. I have never used this before but may do so in the future. How does it work exactly? By that I mean, is the sensor providing constant info to the meter and alerts you if you are low or is it simple just the same as measuring yourself only you scan the sensor with the...

    Managing exercise and insulin

The insulin I'm on is Novorapid as my fast acting and Abasaglar as my night time long acting Insulin. 16 unit per night for my long lasting one. That keeps me steady throughout the day. I'm generally around 5.5-7.5 all day every day now, but when I exercise my BG plummets. Generally I just find...

I have an Asda 2 minutes from me. Where do you get it from in there exactly? I didn't think they had pharmacies in Asdas?

Some Info On The Freestyle Libre If Anyone Knows

Oh I havent bought any, I don't use any this stuff. I just saw it was 60 quid on the actual freestyle website. I'd maybe use it though if it was only 80 quid a month. Can I find it on the superdrug website?

****, this sh*t is pretty expensive huh? £60 a sensor which only last for 2 weeks. So like over £1500 a year on sensors.

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

Got measured a couple months ago and was 52. Too high for my liking. Although I had not been as good as I used to be with the care I was taking. Doing better last couple months though and think I should be back in to the 40s now if I was measured. Goal is to get back in the 30s. When I got...

    Managing exercise and insulin

It's absolutely doing my head in this. I started about a month ago doing 30-40 minutes on my indoor stationary bike. I decided I wanted to get fitter. Every time I do it, it absolutely burns through my BG like hell. The amount of times when I finish I am hypo'ing or on the verge in killing my...

explaining what it's really like to live with Type 1

I was diagnosed just before I was 21. I'm quite well controlled most of the time. It freaking sucks though. There is no getting around that. Sometimes I just want to pig the hell out and stuff my face with junk food but know that I can't really do that. I just want to eat stuff at the cinema...

Complications. Caused by Diabetes or Poorly Controlled Diabetes?

Yeah but my levels might be the same but I'm still diabetic. Just well controlled. That is sort of my question. Say I lived the rest of my life under control and was able to keep my bloods always on average below 6/7, would I then avoid the complications because I'm well controlled or could it...

    'Normal' amount of hypos

Yeah that's normal. I used to get hypo's as often as you when I first got my sugars under control. Now not so often thankfully but there isn't really an average amount. My bloods used to be around 5 and I found that I got more then than I do now when my average blood is probably closer to 7.

Complications. Caused by Diabetes or Poorly Controlled Diabetes?

What the situation with regards to complications? Obviously I know what some of them can be long term like needing limbs amputated or risk of going blind etc. My question is, are these the symptoms of diabetes or of poorly controlled diabetes? For example, if my bloods were consistently 5.5...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

Just got my results through the post today. All good at the moment. 34. Would like to get it down a bit closer to 30 but I'm guessing that will be tough as I've had it 11 months now so I'm guessing it's going to start creeping up a little more now.

T1 diabetic for almost a year. New to the forum.

Hey. I've been t1 for 11 months now. I thought about joining last year after I was diagnosed but I just wanted to ignore everything about it to be honest as the more I read the more worried I got. Almost a year in now, got the thing under good control, and more open about talking about it now...
