CGM - Where do you wear yours ?

@oldtypeone you can request the Dexcom one, it is on the list with Libre as an alternative and they cannot actually refuse if you ask to switch.

    HbA1c result

Are you taking statins. I discovered you shouldn’t take vitamin D if on them as it doubles their level.

    Accupuncture

Had acupuncture for sciatica many years ago. Mixed results. Immediate, yes but not long term unfortunately. Found it relaxing though.

    Exercising while fasting

And yet I have to inject before and after swimming. I inject, swim, inject and eat a [emoji637][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]] carb fruit and yoghurt breakfast. I don’t notice a lowering of numbers till the day after. Whereby I have [emoji637] unit less...

Anyone having big reliability issues with Freestyle Libre 2 Plus sensors?

@Hobo1960 I have had sensors in all different places on my arms. (Even when doing numerous trials for the research team) it has made no difference. There are lots of Type 1s wearing on legs, chests and stomachs. Also with good accuracy.

Off to see HR and my boss this afternoon

Absolutely good advice. Had a husband about to be let go some years ago. When he told them he was bringing them to the meeting the tune changed. He successfully completed two more years at work before retirement.

Anyone having big reliability issues with Freestyle Libre 2 Plus sensors?

I don’t feel we’re missing anything. My TIR is excellent I’ve only had two hypos in the last three months. If I feel the sensor is miss behaving I do increase blood tests. But the truth is pre Libre we were not on board with what our levels were constantly and micro managing them. We did blood...

Libre Freestyle Librelink using with Apple iOS - a warning if you have sensor failures

Yet I too am on Libre two, I phone twelve mini, and the same update with no issues. By the way I haven’t had the signal lost signal on since I started using my phone. Too irritating! Beeping every time I go into a different room or pop to the garden. You would probably be less aware of signal...

    Librelink problem

The trouble is when having multiple doses and corrections it’s amazing how quickly you forget when you took insulin. I like the fact that it holds the information and you can download when you have time. I’ve found them a godsend.

    Sensors, sunscreen and the sea

Tried to delete above but it won’t let me. Google Libre two on Amazon. I buy the round clear ones. Being using them years as I swim regularly. Never had one come off.

    Blood sugars

As a type 1 I would need insulin for DP rather than food. It sounds like you are a way off from carb counting and correction doses. When you have the tools for those, you will be able to treat DP.

    removing needle

Leave for ten seconds which is the norm. Also after you have done a test shot give the needle a flick to remove any residue before you do your actual shot. Inject slowly and remove slowly. It may or may not solve the issue. Worth a go.

Yes Humalog is a fast acting insulin. I started out with it years ago.

    CGM or random testing?

@Royjk I would just wear one and see how you feel about it. You may find you love it. On the other hand you may hate it. Unless you have a go you won’t know. What is there to lose. For my part as a type [emoji637] I wouldn’t be without it now after years of using one.

Type 1's live till their about 80?

That is exactly my feeling. Not sure I would be as healthy as I am now as I approach pensionable age.

    Trial

Yes it is a bit of a commitment. On Saturday when I put my new sensor on the day before to let it settle in, I was wearing six sensors. Plus carrying an extra two monitors around. On top of which I spent two days away at parents and two days at a friends. In the middle of this I hurt my back...
