Ozempic. What is too low for daily total insulin?

That's interesting to know thank you. I wonder what else they said was wrong too !

Ozempic. What is too low for daily total insulin?

I was feeling unwell and struggled to eat and so my insulin needs went right down. 10 days after the c section a wound infection appeared. Although it was all tested they said no bugs there. But yes I did explain all to the nurse and she said it was dangerous for me to be in 24 units of insulin...

Ozempic. What is too low for daily total insulin?

I was told during that time I couldn't eat properly after my c section that 24 units being my total in a day was way too low for me and not safe

    Insight pumps being recalled

This is a worry we could all do without. I'm slowly going into my new diabetic team as I've moved but all care has to be self funded for me and no one to actually discuss this with at the moment. I've been in insight for 7 years and it's been hard to control my blood sugars. I thought it would...

Personal experience of the benefits of using a pump against pens

I have been on accucheck insight pump for about 7 years and the libre now. It doesn't help that they phased out the handset and now the pump soon as well. I'd looked forward to going in the pump for years as I thought it would solve so many problems. But it didn't. It's great having this one...

Ozempic. What is too low for daily total insulin?

I started the low dose of ozempic 5 days ago. I'm on novorapid in my accucheck insight pump and metformin for years. I am insulin resistant and have gained weight over the years. I have tried numerous times low carb and no carb lifestyles. Nothing has worked, in fact if anything it's made some...

    Insight, libre 2, my sugr

I've recently moved and it's not easy to get to diabetic clinic although I am aware they use different equipment to me. I am still in messaging contact with my old diabetic nurse but we're limited in what help I can have. I've had 3 out of 5 libre 2, faulty from the start this year alone. Last...

    A bit of help please

Years ago I was on metformin and I didn't notice much difference. This time round I've been on it for about 8 or so years and I do notice a difference. I'd rather not be on the extra 4 tablets a day... maybe one day my resistance will improve. I've been offered byetta again. Last time I was very...

    Ypsopump versus Tandem Tslim

I trialed the Ypsomed for 2 months. Rotating cannula seemed like a good idea but tor me the reality was they got caught too often on my clothing and I pulled a few out. Preferred the insight, which is the only other one I have experience of. Controls were straight forward, but I felt lacking...

    A bit of help please

I have been told for 15 years I'm insulin resistant because I'm told I'm on a lot of insulin . 66 units a day is an average. I had it hammered into me by that team that I'd be as big as a house if I continued on that level of insulin. They even told me not to increase my insulin when my blood...

    A bit of help please

I have different basal rates -20%, -10%, standard, +10% and +20%. When I'm I'll it can go up or down, no typical pattern and as for pmt, I never know when that is except when my blood sugars start going higher then I know to switch the basal. But again.... it has no rhyme nor reason, what works...

    A bit of help please

Yes please to creating post, I couldn't after I realised I should have started my own post to begin with. Over time I have done low carb. I have done no carb. I react to this in an unhelpful way, my dr says my liver reacts by chucking out glucose and so following these eating lifestyles don't...

    Mandy

I've been on accucheck insight tor 6 years. Not happy with my control although my team say I'm doing well mostly but I see them once a year and my hbalc isn't good, varies from 7.6 to 8.6 mostly. Last appointment I had they asked my why I was trying to lose weight all the time... erm well...

    Problematic cannula sites

Thanks. I do have my insulin go in slower over a period of time so not to in one go. I do change my basal to a different level or even a % change for set number of hours, according to how I feel it's going. Lots of correctional say to me change my basal... but not too quickly one way or another...

    Problematic cannula sites

8mm straight plastic. Above my waste I rarely use as it always reacts. This week I have one I put there that is still pink and a bit inflamed with big lump after being removed two days ago and was only in for 24 hours! Now gone to my hip and bloods were better yesterday but it may not be the...

    Problematic cannula sites

I rotate my sites but mostly on my lower tummy because they get sore very quickly with deep lumps when done above my waste. I tried else where but it got pulled out very quickly. My lower tummy has recently started getting these deep large lumps at site with in 24 -36 hours so I'm changing more...

    byetta and type 1

I have been offered byetta again. They say it's improved. I've read about some of its down sides such as potential damage to kidneys but I don't know any more than that. I'd appreciate any info or experiences on this. Thanks
