    Exenatide and Lixisenatide

I've just had 5 weeks on Lyxumia, had horrible, life limiting headaches and nausea and it was having no effect on my bloods, so stopped and am now trying to manage my bloods with LCHF diet. I was on dpp4 inhibitors for 2 years which I believe made me anxious and was not effective enough for a...

    Metformin is it worth it?

As a bit of balance I'm on metformin slow release and have never had any GI issues, and I do think they have a positive effect on my numbers. It's just a hunch though, I am higher if I forget to take them. I'm just settling into a LCHF diet and will 'experiment' more once I'm stable. This...

T2s: What was your fasting BG this morning, and what did you eat yesterday?

This is really interesting for me. There's no way that I could eat this many carbs at the moment and have reasonable BS. Did you go lower than this and then come back up? How did you get here? (and well done!) Thanks :)

    Hanging my head in shame

Your path sounds very similar to mine :-( For me I think it was rebellion at the sheer hard work and unwavering focus it needs, then your bloods get high and you feel ****** and crave sugar and carbs, which makes you feel worse... and round you go. Well done you for taking control back. You've...

    Dawn phenomenon

I get this too... I've heard people on here talking about 'liver dumps' and eating cheese before bedtime. I'm sure someone will be along in a minute... :bookworm:

    Higher in the morning...

Sorry, am I missing something? Isn't an HbA1c of 40/41 very, very good? And isn't a 'spike' of 6.7 also very, very good? :wacky:

    Keto and type 2

My understanding is that on a ketogenic diet (ie low carb and high fat) you will show ketones which means that you are burning the fat you are eating, but you will have low/normal blood sugars. Diabetic ketoacidosis is where you show ketones, but your blood glucose is very high which means you...

    Struggling with diet

Yes! Look into 'no dig' gardening! Maybe get some help to make a raised bed which will be easier on your back. Can be done for free if you can get hold of some pallets or scrap wood. A courgette plant can also be grown in a big tub or put straight into the ground and compost put around it on the...

T2s: What was your fasting BG this morning, and what did you eat yesterday?

Back up to 8.3 this morning! Dang. Had coffee with cream for breakfast, with my metformin SR and some cheese. Had 3 hot sausages out the garage at midday. Lunch was on the run at about 3.00pm, a packet of pate with cucumber and celery. I looked on the back afterwards and was disappointed to...

    B12 deficiency tingling Metformin

I had very tingly feet and hands and was waking up in the night with arm cramps. I was also getting sores/cracks in the corner of my mouth which is also a sign of B12 deficiency. I started taking a B complex sub-lingual supplement as well as quite a big dose of magnesium every day (and a...

T2s: What was your fasting BG this morning, and what did you eat yesterday?

Fellow T2s, there's clearly a link between what we put in our mouth on one day and what our numbers are the following morning and I, for one would be really interested to see the connection between the 2. There are currently 2 different threads for this information but no connection. Shall we...

    Temporary Headaches?

What meds are you on? Do any of them cause headaches? I've recently come down from mid-teens to under 9 and felt shocking for a few weeks. Hypo type lightheadedness and shakes even though I was, like, 7.5. And headaches but I think it was the Lyxumia. Eating more fat made me feel better ;o)
