    Anyone had Empagliflozin?

At my last Clinic, the doctor said my average reading at 8.5 was too high. She said she would put me on the above drug, to bring down the sugar. She did warn it could lead to urine infections. I have just read about this drug online and it sounds like a horror story. All sorts of dire warnings...

Who is in charge of my treatment?

I go twice a year to my local hospital Diabetic clinic. A year ago, the doctor ( always different ones) changed my insulin to Novomix, a combination of the two I previously took. This has made no difference to my readings (always poor, prone to hypos during the night) and I would like to go...

    forgot to take insulin

I had my granddaughter to look after this morning and forgot to take my insulin. I didn't notice till 12ish although I was feeling ill. So annoyed at myself. I usually take 36 Novomix at breakfast, so, I took 20 at 12 noon to see if that would sort me. I still feel a bit 'off'. Should I have...

    Compression tights

I was recently prescribed Amlodipine for my HBP. I am T2, on Insulin, thyroxine, metformin, candesartan, statins and tablets for angina. My legs and ankles are now permanently swollen and my ankles especially are painful. The skin has peeled off my heels. Should I try compression tights? Do...

    new tablets

Earlier this year, I experienced tightness (not pain) in my chest when walking uphill. The doc sent me for ECG and Stress Echo tests, both of which were OK. However, the Cardio doc says I have angina based on my diabetes, HBP, high cholestoral and family history. He has prescribed Ivabradine...

    Nauseous feeling every day

I am T2, on insulin and 4 x Mets per day. Often in the afternoon about 4ish I start to feel sick. I sometimes have to cancel whatever I had planned for my evening meal and just have a boiled egg or similar. Then by bed time I am feeling better but starving! I take 2 mets at breakfast, 1 at...

    low reading in the night

I had a good evening meal, chicken, pots and 2 veg, followed by yoghurt. My bedtime reading was 10.0. I awoke at 2.30am with a reading of 5.1 which for me is a bit low. Rather than risk a hypo later on in the night, I got up and had a Weetabix. My reading at 8am was 13.9. What did I do wrong?

    Swollen ankles/feet/legs

I am T2 on met and insulin. I recently started a second pill for my BP. My BP has improved but at a high cost. The front of my feet, around my ankles and my lower legs are now really swollen, tender and painful. is this inevitable?

    My sweet tooth

I am T2 on Met and insulin. I have a really sweet tooth and after lunch and dinner, I eat about 10 - 12 chocolate raisins. I don't eat sweets or chocolate bars but cannot resist my choc raisins. How harmful is this bad habit? I am overweight and have poor control over my readings.
