A decadent use for 100% dark chocolate

I have been dithering about using some 100% chocolate to make a drink. I like the taste of it anyway.

An Alternative Perspective on Diabetes Management

Really useful for me then. My blood pressure is,normal. I don't smoke. Cholesterol levels not a problem and with my history of IBS Metformin use is not advised. So I'm going to die earlier as I have lowered my BGL's. I understood that the early death due to lowering bgl's happened when...

    Post no longer about

She posted again last evening after the Mods put on that post. She was just going to see London to see Robbies parents. So much pain.

    Want to beat sugar cravings

I'll give this a try, not with those foods though.

    Thin Type 2 Diabetics

Oddly enough over the years I've had my bgl's tested more often than my BP. Shocking that they didn't as a matter of routine check your bgl's as you were on steroids.

    Want to beat sugar cravings

I find a small chunk of cheese works. I'm just giving in to eating lots of nuts at the mo. Since I've lost all this weight I am feeling the cold I'm having to wear coats!! and socks!! and hats!! and gloves!! I think that it's true that it's better to not eat/drink things with artificial...

    Want to beat sugar cravings

After 4-5 months of keeping the sugar cravings away I have been having the most awful time the past few weeks. I slightly changed my diet approach yesterday, I still have weight to lose but I've decided to forget it at the moment and eat more. I also decided to 'hell with it' I'm going to have...

    New Type 2 - scared

I was given a booklet with my results written in it. BUT not all of them AND for my last set of tests they weren't written down in it. Note to self I really must get the print outs.

    New Type 2 - scared

No it isn't she lives in Wales as do I and I was given one. If you get one and it's an Aga Matrix like the one that I given the finger pricker just didn't work on me ie pain but rarely any blood. I've found the code free finger pricker much better. I also cannot get my test results on-line...

    Exhausted!

Sorry but So far I never have. I drink at least 2 litres of water per day and I still get up twice a night. Maybe it's habit but I don't think so as my bladder is bursting. I am still thirsty but nothing like as bad as I was when my glucose levels were high but I'm thirsty enough that I'd...

Ow! Ow! Little pr!(k, my b¥m!

I can't get any blood out of the sides of my fingers even on highest settings. The meter that I was given by dr had such a useless finger pricker that it just used to bounce all sting and no blood. The code free one is much better.

Prof Roy Taylor hypothesis - DIRECT study & pancreatic fat

Thank you and I totally agree with you about testing. It gave me back control after I was diagnosed. It makes me so cross that most of us aren't encouraged to test by our HCP's and also that we don't get the equipment to do it. Congratulations on the control that you have achieved for so long.

Prof Roy Taylor hypothesis - DIRECT study & pancreatic fat

Well done on your success. What kind of 'healthy eating' are you now doing? Have you put on any weight? I thought weight was considered to be the key rather than glucose levels? If that is the case then they still won't fund us testing.

    Uric Acid Kidney Stone (Not!)

I liked your post because of the good positive attitude well done. (Didn't want you to think it was because of the pain issues.

    5 diets to avoid (apparently)

    >The British Nutrition Foundation agrees, saying that a traditional Mediterranean diet typically includes pasta and rice at every meal. Breakfast too? >She said by not eating carbohydrates, you avoid eating the calorie-laden things that generally accompany them: "If you're cutting out carbs...

Prof Roy Taylor hypothesis - DIRECT study & pancreatic fat

It's a difficult position for them to be in at the moment. They naturally want to give the research the very best chance of producing positive results hence their screening procedure. But at some point in time surely someone has to research whether there is a cut off point beyond which too...

Prof Roy Taylor hypothesis - DIRECT study & pancreatic fat

@Kentoldlady1 I too agree with you it is wonderful that people with T2d can go into remission and eat what they want to again. I would hope that by the time your kids are your age (whatever that is :)) there won't be so much pressure to eat carbs and sugars.
