Helpful thank you, especially as advice from doctor and not government.

    Type 1 and Teacher

My Head wrote to all staff asking whether anyone had problems working from June 1st. I said I had been advised to self-isolate since March (happened to be on the phone to pump clinic who told me this in March) but as you know, all sketchy since March. My Head said I must follow medical advice...

    Type 1 and Teacher

Thanks Jon, sorry what is a RA? Is there a way you could link / copy here? My school is independent and they’ve asked us today to email if we think we won’t be able to work in June but I’ve not replied yet.

    Type 1 and Teacher

Hi Jon, I’m in exactly the same boat and just logged in to see if there was any advice. Type 1, 31 years, secondary teacher coming into contact with hundreds of kids every day [emoji51]if you hear anything from school please update and I’ll do the same. In the first few days of virus, it was...

    At Risk groups

Thanks so much. I’ve been in denial that this will apply to us. As a secondary teacher coming into contact with 100s and 100s of students tomorrow, I feel unsure whether to go in and no idea what will happen to my work / classes.

Does anyone use Medtronic enlite sensors with Apple Watch / phone etc but NO pump??

Thanks, yeah I called them. Can’t use my current (identical looking) cgm transmitter need to buy another one for £299. Decided against it for the moment as the £299 iPhone one only communicates with iPhone (or whatever) but doesn’t suspend pump when hypo which I think is pretty magic when I’m...

Does anyone use Medtronic enlite sensors with Apple Watch / phone etc but NO pump??

Thank you. Can’t get it to link with my transmitter. Think I need to buy a compatible transmitter - will give them a call if I ever finish work before they do at 5pm. Thanks

    Libre Sensor

Bit late replying but just wanted to say two things 1) I’m a teacher and you shouldn’t worry about driving the teacher mad. There should be a trained TA whose responsibility this is anyway. Any government policies or bad behaviour will be driving him mad, not this [emoji23] 2) I’m on enlite...

Does anyone use Medtronic enlite sensors with Apple Watch / phone etc but NO pump??

Always hear of people with Libre who use MDI but anyone out there just on enlite and MDI using Apple products? I think this is possible? Having pumped for 13 years, I’m wondering if a little break would be possible to help sites heal and wear a bikini, jump in pool on and off all day, generally...

Stupid question but....any advice on magnets and pumps?

Couldn’t find anything. Did see something about keeping your ‘cell phone’ 12 inches away which I never knew or never have [emoji23]

Thanks, didn’t think of that [emoji85] just downloaded. Searching now but not seeing anything yet

Stupid question but....any advice on magnets and pumps?

At work today there were new, fancy, magnetic name badges. It said on the packet that if you wear a pacemaker you shouldn’t wear it. Said ‘strong magnet’ on back of badge. I’m sure it’s all totally fine and this is a silly, embarrassing question as not huge magnetic fields - but can you wear...

Anyone Pregnant? I Have A Good Book If You Are In London And Can Collect?

Hi, I have a well used copy of ‘balancing pregnancy with pre-existing diabetes’ healthy mom, healthy baby if anyone planning pregnancy or is pregnant and wants it for free obviously but can collect it from Warlingham in Surrey or Liverpool Street Station. I remember it cost over £20 7 years ago...

Has anyone here been a diabetic for more than 40 years?

I’m 30 years and 39 years old - same as you; only background retinopathy. Never been able to grasp great control but always trying to. My consultant told me I’ll outlive my husband and to stop worrying. (He is an amazing leading expert in the T1 field) He said it is unlikely to have kidney...

    Protein?

Weird one from me but I used to go super high (20s) from eating a large steak and higher the rarer the meat was. Probably just me and it’s the only time I use a 6-8 hour square wave bolus on pump. I’ve not yet found any precise guidance and certainly not any that relates to my experience; sorry!

Pump One Insulin, Simultaneously Mdi Another?

This is a really quite a crazy idea but I’d love to hear what you think. It’s just an idea. On another post I mentioned how, eventually, Fiasp wasn’t a good match for me except a bit better for eating and I’ve moved back to Humalog. Someone kindly posted the suggestion of MDI, I guess with 2x...

    My Fiasp Findings So Far...

I’m so sensitive (normally!) I really rely on the 0.25 increments the pump can deliver. Hadn’t really considered MDI again - worth a ponder- thank you
