So my meter is going to be my best friend for a while now, isn't it? I have never used it regulary, just this last week as I knew by my sight that something was wrong. I don't understand why eating some fruits can be wrong but am willing to try. I have had increased thirst this last week, and...

Is there a limit to how much of the above foods I can eat? Everything in moderation I suppose. It's quite hard when it has been drilled into you that any fat is bad for you, isn't it? I feel quite excited!

If I make Spaghetti Bolognese, can I have a small amount of pasta - if not, any alternatives? The same question as above if I make Chilli? Can I still have sugar in my tea? I think I know the answer to this one though.

Wow, that's a lot to take in. Thank you Daisy. I'm not sure how to start, apart from cutting out white bread and potatoes. I need to swap all of my meals, it's just working out what I can eat instead of my usual meals. Ideas :- Breakfast - Eggs? Is it possible to have any cereal? What about...

Yes, my 15 year-old is overweight. So that needs addressing rather soon. He does eat a lot of chocolate and crisps though, and like me he does not excercise. He buys the chocolate and crisps from his own money, we do not buy them for him.

Thank you all for your concern, it's much appreciated. I called the out of hours GP last week, it was a GP from my own practise. They said nothing other than to follow the GP's advice and double my tablet. I feel I am not getting any help at all. This has put me off going to the hospital...

Hello I am not feeling so bad at the moment, my BG was 21.0 this morning so has gone down a small bit. I have been to the GP's and the positive thing is that there were no Ketones in my urine. Otherwise, I am in tears as the GP has had a right go at me, telling me I need to eat 3 sideplates...
