@azure I think you're on to something there! I'll definitely give that a try 30 minutes in advance in the morning. I don't know why I never thought of before. The Dawn phenomenon has always been an issue, but the resistance is a more recent problem. I had noticed an increase in the amount of...

Yes I agree @Jaylee, there definitely isn't a simple solution or an easy fix....I've yet to find anything that improves my control and that's all I want. I worry about the impact on my body of continuous unstable BG levels, I'm constantly lethargic which isn't good when you have two children...

Thank you so much @himtoo!! This has given me a bit of hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel :) I've been feeling a bit frustrated and as though I'm not being understood/supported by my DSN. I'm going to have a look through all the information on the link you've given me. Happy...

    Diabetic Daisy

I know, it's so difficult to accept the frustration and try to move past it. That is definitely one of my goals for this year though...sometimes we have to accept that certain things are outwith our control, all we can do is out best!

I have enquired about a pump numerous times as I feel that I meet the NICE guidelines..My DSN informed me at our last appointment that 'a pump isn't an easy fix'. I'm aware that there is a lot of work that goes in to having a pump, but I'm really struggling to have any control what so ever. I...

I haven't been offered Metfomin, I will raise this with my DSN as I have an appointment in two weeks. I'll give it a go and see how I get on with it, I've found a few threads on the forum which offer support to beginners of LCHF. Thank you :)

Hi @samantha13, Thank you so much! It makes me feel 100x better to know that there are other T1's out there who feel the same way. Sometimes you can feel like a failure when your BG levels just do not co-operate - no matter how hard you try! It also seems like every little thing in pairs on...

I have tried to get changed back to BD Microfine needles, however so far my GP has refused to do so as the new needles are 'more cost effective'. Today is literally my first day of LCHF, so far it seems as though it will be a lot of trial and error, BG monitoring and adjusting my Novorapid. I'm...

Morning all, Happy New Year! I'm looking to get an app on my mobile to log my BG levels, rather than a paper diary. Any recommendations? Thanks :)

My last HbA1c was 8.5, however that was a few months ago. My next appointment with my DSN is at the end of January. I've had numerous telephone conversations with her regarding my lack of control since my GP changed my needles to another brand but there seems to be no rhyme or reason for the...

Hi all! I'm Kimberley, 27 years old, been type 1 diabetic for the last 10 years. I'm new to this forum, I don't know anyone who is type 1, no one in my family has it either... I'm hoping to get a bit of advice and support through the forum as I'm going to start a LCHF eating regime in the...

    Diabetic Daisy

Hi Daisy, I'm 27, have been diagnosed as type 1 diabetic for 10 years. No one on my family is diabetic, it can be a struggle sometimes to have an 'invisible illness'. I still don't think I have accepted my diabetes...I struggle with irregular BG levels, even when I eat the same thing and...
