Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

A slightly higher level than I like of 5.9 today - not surprising - too many carbs yesterday and about 5 hours sleep. Got my nose frozen off on my morning walk today - brrrrrrr!

5.7 for me today (courtesy of those 2 ginger biscuits last night methinks!). Ah well at least I'm not munching on jelly babies today.

Eeek! Lower than I want at 3.4 this morning (jelly babies to the rescue). Definitely think I can drop one Gliclizade permanently. I have my 6 month check this month so we shall see what my HBAC1 is then.

    Myasthenia Gravis

OMG I really wonder sometimes. The bathroom trips are clear signs of diabetes - your body trying to get rid of excess glucose - the constant hunger is as you know the steroids (think bottomless pit?!). Cut your carbs down, or go low GI foods/Atkins and this will help. You may need to get...

    Myasthenia Gravis

Had you checked your BS levels at the time? I tend to find that when mine are low I feel a bit spaced out. It has a lasting effect all day as I feel very detached.

4.5 today - pretty good considering I had about 5 hours sleep!

    High Blood Sugars with Illness!

When I was brewing a cold mine hit 12! Its the body's way of fighting infection - the liver dumps glucose into your bloodstream to enable your immune system to fight the infection. Paracetamol, hot drinks (try ginger tea - good for a sore throat) and sleep. Let your immune system do what it...

3.9 this morning - so jelly babies to the rescue - and only 1 gliclizade yesterday! (now if I can only shift that last stone in weight - its being very resistant to getting itself lost!)

    Myasthenia Gravis

I've had MG since I was 15 and been on and off the dreaded steroids for a number of years and ended up with type 2 because of it. I definitely know what the hunger is that the steroids cause! I was prescribed Metformin (which my stomach did not like one little bit!) and Gliclizade. When I found...

    Prescriptions sent electronically/Medical Exemption Certs.

I would have thought it unlikely they will chase for ones going back years - if you put your application in now - it will automatically be backdated a month from the date they receive it. I'm surprised you weren't sent a reminder in the post to renew it - I was the last time mine needed to be...

3.9 this morning (following a 4.2 yesterday). Lack of sleep definitely affects my levels.

Whoops - 7.2 this morning - bad for me! Obviously had too many carbs yesterday (plus less than 5 hours sleep last night). Must get back to my exercise routine again.

    Need your HELP Am Scared

It is a range which indicates a possibility. Many things can alter your levels - infection for instance can cause higher levels (your liver dumps glucose into the bloodstream to fight infection). If in doubt get your HBAC1 tested by a doctor - what other indicators have you got that makes you...

Eeek - 3.3 this morning - and I only had one Gliclizade yesterday. Beginning to think I can come off them.

    First visit with doctor

I had already been prescribed Gliclizade as well which I tolerated without a problem. I seem to be getting now to the point where I don't need it (after over 4 stone weight loss). I have been having a few hypos lately and have begun to drop one of the Gliclizade now (I was only on 40mg twice...
