    DUMMY PUMP & TRAINING

I have quite a high basal rate 43u a day more than half pre-pump days and bolus between 30-40 a day so I'll be changing very often I'm afraid, unless I totally scrutinise everything from my insulin resistance to diet which is what I'm planning to do on the 11 March to get myself in tip-top...

    DUMMY PUMP & TRAINING

I can imagine that is a bit frustrating having to change something everyday especially for a working girl like yourself, I'm not working so it'll keep me on my toes and make me realise that this tiny machine is basically keeping me healthy so for me it'll be a small price to pay, plus I never...

    If I have a choice...

If a pump develops a fault and you have had it for 3 years they normally send a replacement with 1 years warranty on it, and normally they do this by checking the days left on the countdown timer on the pump, totally agree with you CarbsRok :-)

    Meter/insulin pen pretty case!

Hate to say I keep my meter in the bog standard black case it came in ( very boring I know) and the pens are just the disposable ones as I'm on a pump and use a pen rarely, I keep saying I must bling my things ! Even though I am a bloke it does look nice, was it papercase or paperchase as the...

Oh as your now a loyal customer to a pump company it won't hurt to give them a call yourself, I don't kno about other people I order most things from the company and deal directly with them, there might be a slight glitch somewhere

    Infusion sets

I us Tenderlink 17/110mm on my pump with the old pump I'm on but the new insight pump I'm changing to in June accu-CHEK do a shorter tube length of 100 mm, the reason I use a longer needle is the opposite to donnellydogs I've got a bit of extra weight around my tum plus I've always used long...

    Pump lifespan

I think it's been mentioned that pumps do carry on after their life time days on their timers, If so if this true? And how much longer for as people use them for back up ? Do they just take the battery out to stop it or do they have a alternative back up power chip that keeps them counting...

    Pump outcast

Hi Spiker, totally agree with Chas C it seems a common type 1 trait, talk to someone, believe me I've spoken to a lot of people over the years for issues I've had, talking is a brilliant way of resolving issues and other people's opinions often help and you've got an abundance of wealth of...

    Eye Lasering

You might get some slight discomfort but the drops they use to ease any are good, you shouldn't drive for a good few hours, I always left it to the next day. If this is your first laser I very much doubt you'd have to give up completely, i had type 1 38 yrs before I was told not to drive any...
