    Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

    6.2 this morning, but that was at around 0900, I got up at 0530 to use the toilet and then went back to bed, maybe I should have tested then.

    No breakfast only coffee. Lunch 3 ryvita with smoked ham. Tea a lovely steak with side salad followed by a scoop of diabetic ice cream with melon, blueberries and rasberries.

    I use the Accu-chek mobile, and the fastclic lancet drums are avaiable on ebay 204 for £12 not bad.

    Hi all, No breakfast, only coffee. Lunch 3 ryvita crispbreads with cheese, total carbs 20.1g. BS before 6.4, 2 hrs after 5.5 Dinner a stirfry of chicken strips with bacon, peas, mixed peppers and rice, total carbs 42g. BS before 6.2, 2 hrs after 5.7 Total carbs for the day 62.1g plus coffee's.

    Keano there is a thing called sugar dump or liver dump in the mornings after you get up and move around, it is you body giving you a rush of glucose to give you energy for the start of the day.     6.9 again this morning, same as yesterday. Had two spikes yesterday and know what caused them so will avoid those foods. On the good news however, I managed to get my total carb intake for yesterday down to 117.7 grams.

    Depends on the fruit, melon (all types) are excellent, very low, and at the other end banana's and oranges are a lot higher. Google www.dietdoctor and you will find excellent low carb menu's plus info og the carb content of all different foods and fruits.

    Very good news, well done. I too was told not to test but ignored that bit of advise from the Diabetic nurse.

    Hi all, I am a T2 and not on any medication, diet control only. I have been on a low carb diet for a few days but have noticed that recently I am getting a mild headache first thing in the mornings, any thoughts ?
