    Simple, Comfort Food Recipes

For 18 months, my lunch was 2.25 CUPS of high fat yogurt w/ 1/2 cup berries. :-) I've recently admitted it's too carby for my lunches, but your post made me realize I can keep it as an occasional dessert. :-) Thanks for reminding me that I don't have to avoid the foods I love forever.

Your Favorite Vitamin C, and fermented foods?

I have been fiddling with my diet quite a bit as I 'eat to the meter'. I thought I might list a few of my winner foods and ask for some suggestions from this wise and experienced group. I'm eating liver once a week - basically a superfood. eggs - ditto, superfood, I'm eating them almost...

    Questions about RH and suggestions

Thanks Lamont. It really does feel like a dance to find foods I like, don't spike or hypo me, and meet all my nutrition needs. But I'm in this for the long haul

    Questions about RH and suggestions

The 1/2 banana is only a rare (once a week, if that) treat - I dip the slices in peanut butter. Believe it or not, I only raise 0.5mmoL/L after this dessert. But in general I agree with you - bananas are not part of my everyday foods.

    Questions about RH and suggestions

Sadly - I use Zoi, which has 18 grams fat per se I definitely only eat high-fat yogurt (Zoi - it has 18 g fat!), and the thing is, I don't go more than 1.25mmol/L above my fasting when I eat it, but because my fasting glucose is often about 5.8mmol/L, it doesn't take much for me to bump up...

What’s been your experience of your daily Fasting Numbers in respect of your HBA1C reductions?

Totally agree. My lack of understanding and thence employing countermeasures was, back in September, an unknown and unknowable Landscape, devoid of Signposts, a Compass, a Map or even guiding Stars! What I WAS handed was a Pricker device, no hands-on usage support, Strips 'n Pricks and a quickly...

Does low carb reduce blood pressure?

My blood pressure dropped a lot on low carb. From morning average 144/92 down to morning average 105/65. The drop happened rapidly too - over a couple months. I have to make sure I get enough electrolytes. My best method is drinking kettle and fire bone broth, but that is expensive...

    Questions about RH and suggestions

Lamont, I've realized that I have to eat even lower carb than I was doing. I'm working to find more variety and lower carb lunch options. Today I had tuna fish with walnuts, cheese, and pickles. Not only did my blood sugar stay more stable after eating, but when I went running in the...

    Post food readings

I have been thinking a lot about my pancreas and liver lately - also recently discovered I have RH. I'm not sure if you were looking for some explanations for what may be going on in your body, but it seemed like you might be wondering. I think the "story" of what is happening to you is that...

What’s been your experience of your daily Fasting Numbers in respect of your HBA1C reductions?

I totally agree. This forum is such a source of support to those of that arrive here looking for answers - and frankly, feeling a little scared and desperate.

What’s been your experience of your daily Fasting Numbers in respect of your HBA1C reductions?

What is your opinion on someone that has a healthy BMI (22) but still has an elevated FBG? I wonder if I have some fatty liver I can't see (but I doubt this due to excellent liver function tests and narrow waist and regular exercise)...... that would explain the "wringing out" you mention...

What’s been your experience of your daily Fasting Numbers in respect of your HBA1C reductions?

I take encouragement from this. My numbers have not improved (despite weight loss), but I feel time may help. I've also recently dropped my carbs even further. I didn't want to have to go so low (I have this fear that it will reduce my insulin sensitivity long-term), but I am "eating to the...

What’s been your experience of your daily Fasting Numbers in respect of your HBA1C reductions?

I know that another poster mentioned that it took a year for her fasting numbers to come down. So it's nice to see that you feel that is the trend too. I'm optimistic time will help my fasting numbers.

For those who with success in reducing A1C, feedback please

That is so great! I just don't know how much lower carb I can go. I'm already at only 50 g a day (if that) and have been here for 18 months. It doesn't seem to be fixing me, although I certainly lost weight. I was so discouraged yesterday, but trying to find my motivation and energy feet to...

For those who with success in reducing A1C, feedback please

I hear you on the symptoms at a prediabetic level of A1C. I even now have the tingling in my feet and hands. Omg I'm experiencing neuropathy? At an A1C of 42? And maybe gastroparesis? And kidney disease? This is crazy.

For those who with success in reducing A1C, feedback please

I've been pondering this question myself recently. When I first became prediabetic, I weighed 147lbs. Since then, using low carb, I've lost 30 pounds but my A1C has gone slightly UP. So I've been wondering if even though I feel like I'm amazingly thin now (haha), perhaps my healthy weight is...

For those who with success in reducing A1C, feedback please

Do you think someone could have fatty liver even if there liver enzymes look great? I'm at a very healthy weight and can't seem to get my liver to stop pumping out sugar.
