    FreeStyle Libre question

The Libre Sensor has an 8 hour memory so when you scan it, it pulls through the past 8 hours data. So if you scan at least every 8 hours, the Sensor Data captured will eventually be at 100%. There may be times when no data is available, for example if it gets really wet, I have found that it...

Type 1: Are night time hypo watches/bands any good??

Hey no problem @bazzakerr1, you're most welcome. You sound like you have a great attitude towards this already which is a lot better than I was in the first few weeks. In a way, we were lucky that the diagnosis came at the start of the summer holidays so we had plenty of time to inform the...

    Toddler Diagnosis

Thanks for the tip @Dillinger. I guess it doesn't hurt to give Vit D3, can't think of any side effects. Why not just give year round? Don't get much sun anyways.

Android Phone for Libre Link App

Thanks @EllsKBells. That list contains the Samsung S range which I am currently looking at so that's good. @db89, what did you do to get it to work? If you don't mind sharing.

    Toddler Diagnosis

Thanks @catapillar. We were told at the hospital that were was no real way of detecting the likelihood of T1 developing in our toddler but that above link, whilst not definitive, offers some kind of indication. Still not sure I want to know TBH. There was also some news recently of a family...

Android Phone for Libre Link App

Have been using Freestyle Libre for a while now mainly using the Libre Reader but on occasions using the Libre Link App as well. This was working pretty well on my Google Nexus 5. I recently bought the Nexus 5X assuming that it would also be able to scan the Libre. To my horror, it's not...

Small update on Medtrum CGM & Pump

Such a shame. @tim2000s I read your post about this last year and was looking forward to some further developments. I've been searching all over the internet the last couple of days after I received that same link that OP mentioned.

    Toddler Diagnosis

Just read this...how did it go? Hopefully a big fat NO T1. I have a 5 year old girl with T1 and a 2 year old boy and we just pray that he wont get it as well. No family history of T1!!

Type 1: Are night time hypo watches/bands any good??

My 5yo girl was diagnosed last July and we spent the first few months doing the whole night time routine...exhausting!!! The key to moving out of that is the long acting insulin dose (levemir in your case). It takes some experimenting but once you have that dose correct you can sleep through...

Have never ever re-used a needle on my little girl. But who knows when she is older and if still on MDI then am sure she will reuse like you have all done.

My 7 year old little girl been diagnosed with diabetes 1 three weeks ago

Hi Sara, Sorry to hear of your daughter's diagnosis. It's a terrible thing to happen to a young child. I'm proud dad to a 5 year old girl diagnosed around 5 months back. It personally took me around 6 weeks to come to terms with it and accept it. Since then, it's been much better. Give it...

    Type 1

Sorry to hear that @sammiB. It is a dreadful thing to happen to a teenager. You did the same 32 years ago and look at all the advances in technology compared to those days. You've done well enough to raise a 15 year old so you've done well no matter what. Give her all your experience and...

    Pens with a memory function?

I like this concept...we usually go back to the BG Meter to get the time of the pre-meal test which gives us a rough idea of when the injection was administered. Wonder if there are any cheaper alternatives (apart from being organised and always knowing when the injection went in...

    Type 1s: Acceptable spike

Thanks for sharing this. Never even crossed my mind to do a small bolus an hour before and then the remainder just before eating. Makes sense to me although would only be able to implement this plan for a small percentage of my Daughter's meals....and it is another dreaded injection. I guess...
