There is a delay and inaccuracies....its just the way the tech is at the minute.........everyone will need to adapt its use to suit their specific needs whether its to adjust basal doses, avoid highs/lows or even just to give the fingers a break....

Is this system just a cgm that is compatible with a mobile device.....? and if so, can the mobile phone itself be used to alert you instead..?

I have experienced this on quite a few occasions, and when I say that I mean within 1mmol........ its just a lucky match of dose and timing..... not changing even by a fraction of a mmol isn't an achievable target but all those injecting or pumping should be trying to time it perfectly as much...

I think with the numbers you are seeing it's ok to just carry on as normal.....they aren't big rises really and meter accuracy can be factored in too....[emoji106]

It's all about taking the time to get the basal right....and then it's alot easier to fit the bolus testing in to normal day to day activities....

the beauty of the pump is the basal so yes......doing a full test of the basal over a 24 hour period is the best and first course of action for any pumper... blood sugar response to meals and insulin doses, all be it made easier with the pump, still requires some thinking by the user.... is...

You need 15g of carbs to treat a hypo........a bottle or can of lucozade will still contain this....... what is critical is will you need more than the 15g due to a bad dose calculation or physical activity etc.... so is coke better, no, they're all the same...

Possible reasons could be: Lantus running out [if you take it in the evening] Your evening meal time insulin/carb ratio needs adjusting.... It sounds like your on fixed doses so wont be actively carb counting or adjusting your doses but you will likely need more if you continue to see that...

And if you want to delve even deeper in to the correction it has been observed that the higher the blood sugar is the greater the resistance to insulin is and therefore you would need more...... Before the pump, if I was above 17mmol, I needed 1 unit for every1 mmol reduction...... But you...

My clinic is also struggling to keep my appointments, although I don't really need them, apart from getting my bloods done....its been over a year now.... How experienced are you with dose adjustment?

Yogurt was the carb I chose back when on injections..... 15g minimum..... but it is trial and error.......what might work for me may not work for you.....you might need more carbs or something different to dairy...

insulin levels, you cant really, from home anyway............ a blood glucose test can be done which can then tell you if your insulin is doing the job.... you would need to purchase a meter and test strips to do that.......

I would agree with the nurse.....but until you make that change, the Lantus can still be split if you want to....

basal testing will help too as your body changes mass and shape....

One before bed and one when you wake.......getting injections in at the exact same time isn't actually that significant....;)

Eating something should help as the digestion process will tell the liver its help is no longer required. Its good that you are waking up in a reasonable target, so some may assume your total carb intake in general isn't excessive.... Getting a small carb in with some accompanying insulin...
