    Insulin

Everyone takes different amounts, some may be the same but it's frowned upon to give dose advice... I don't mind doing it alongside a statement saying proceed with caution etc... How much insulin did you take for the cereal...? We can work out the ratio frommthst dose and make suggestions....

    Insulin

That's what I was explaining earlier........the amount will be different for everyone.....however a safe place to start for an average adult is 1 unit per 10g, so for a 30g bowl of cereal, that's 3 units...... so you need to actively be using a ratio as this makes it easier to adjust up or...

Higher blood sugar in the morning

fortunately its not excessive testing to confirm or deny dawn phenomenon, a 3 am reading should suffice..... with the rise in level you have shown though it doesn't look like a significant liver response to the fasting but likely just the increased resistance we all have created from the other...

    Diabetic smart watch?

Well, it maybe real, I know experiments where being conducted with tech that could use different types of light to measure glucose levels...so the watch would fire through light and then record how much goes through to determine glucose.... don't know how far off they are or if its worth...

    Insulin

@porl69 makes a good point about the basal insulin....... any meaningful adjustment of your mealtime insulin is dependent on your long acting insulin being correct or as close to as correct as possible... you need more insulin and that's maybe obvious......getting the right adjustments in...

    Insulin

well, its a proper calculation you should be doing, using an insulin/carb ratio...... usually people will start on a ratio of 1 unit per 10g of carbs, and then go on to adjust that to suit their needs..... so how many carbs is in your portion of cereal....?

    hypos

If it keeps up like that then you need to adjust your ratio for your lunch....... timing could be an issue too......your meals may take longer to digest at that time of day so you need to play about with your bolus timing...

    Would a pump help me?Hi

I would say it would definitely help you........the preparation before going on one though varies between person to person..... for example if you haven't had any knowledge and experience of adjusting your own doses on a multiple daily injection regime you are a long way off from making the...

    Freestyle Libre Sensor: highly inaccurate??

Some people are going to have high expectations I suppose but just think about what the Libre actually excels in..... its patterns in glucose levels, not how accurate it is compared to an already inaccurate blood test..... its the patterns you see that then go on to influence other day to day...

First thoughts when diagnosed? (Type 1)

I was 15 and had been exposed to type one diabetes all my life because my younger brother had it.... I don't actually remember a doctor telling me face to face in hospital that I had diabetes, it was just assumed silently which I find strange....it wasn't a young child who couldn't handle...
