What pumps are available to you in your NHS area?

I live in Preston, Lancashire (for my sins) and they have offered me Medtronic 640g, Accu check combo, Omnipod. I went for omnipod :) I start in two weeks! I’m scared but excited!

    Wasted insulin

Me again! I’m due to start the pump in July and I have stacks of pre filled pen injections, both fiasp and Lantus. As I used to work in a pharmacy, I know that they can obviously not reuse this and it will be thrown away. I am so saddened about the tragedy that began our friends over the pond...

Advice needed - what to do at work!

Yes I like this idea. All my family are quite protective and keep telling me that i don’t need to take it as AL and the nurse was offering a sick note. But they have been mega supportive and I don’t want to take advantage.

Advice needed - what to do at work!

Hi all!! So I’ve been approved for a pump and I’m so happy but I got super anxious today when they told me that I’d need a week off work with the appointments to set up the pump and educate etc. Now I started my new job at the end of Feb so it’s still quite new. However I’ve had a period of ill...

    Help?

Hey there Your post struck a chord with me. I was 17 when I was diagnosed and hated it, hated what it did to me, the box it put me into, I did not want to accept it at all, I then by chance realised that if I didn’t inject my insulin I would lose weight.. which I felt for me some positive...

Hey becks. I totally know the feeling, please if you want to dm me for a proper chat that’s absolutely fine, sometimes I don’t get notifications you’ve replied. It’s so hard and I have days where I feel that life’s so unfair and have my own little pity party. But we have to live with the...

    Naughty Kidneys

Hi becks they always check your renal function in blood tests when you gogor your annual or 6 monthly checks. They didn’t even raise it to me I had to ask.. I recommend asking what yours are. I wish I had this info sooner, so not to scare or anything but they mentioned that as both eyes and...

    Nocturnal Hypo’s

Hey, yeah think I will. It’s not happening every night but it’s weird that I was indeed hypo when I woke up which makes me think it was a true low. Just not waking up, feel like I haven’t slept. I’m a little anaemic too so doesn’t help!

    Nocturnal Hypo’s

Hey! Well not in the middle of the night as I didn’t wake up for the low but when I woke up and it said 2.6 on the sensor I checked and it was 3.0 so it’s only a little outs
