i need to get back on track

Lol .. too embarrassed by my limited culinary skills (blush). How can you get to your 70s and not be a good cook you may ask. I ask myself that too. Just not interested I suppose. Can do basic stuff and with an O/H who doesn't like his food "mucked about with" I've never bothered with herbs...

i need to get back on track

That sounds delicious and something even I could make if I had the right ingredients :D I think this is the link to What Have You Eaten (if it works) lol http://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/what-have-you-eaten-today.75781/

i need to get back on track

Yes, I realised when I re-read your original post ... lol. well rosserk says it works out cheaper to just buy almonds and grind your own. I'm not sure if my little food processor would cope with that. Only just bought it so haven't tried it yet. I thought almonds were quite expensive too...

i need to get back on track

@Suzannelife Hahaha! Not sure who that was aimed at but I'll take a good kicking if I slip off the wagon :D I thought almond flour was a lot finer and more like ordinary flour whereas ground almonds is quite coarse?

i need to get back on track

Hi @rosserk Thanks x I'm glad I'm not the only one then :) I expect there's a lot of us who struggle and don't post in the What Have you eaten today" thread as don't think it would inspire anyone or ashamed of the blandness of most of our meals. I tend to live off the Greek yogurts and...

i need to get back on track

The trouble I have is that I'm not a "kitchen Goddess" at all. Have lived on ready meals and take-aways for so long now until getting the diabetic wake-up call and starting LC/HF that it just doesn't come easy having to put some effort in cooking up the "allowed" stuff. I scroll through all...

    A Month Into Low Carbing

Good idea if it works for you.x I just use an ordinary tape measure but it never seems to move. As I think I said, my weight has come of my legs and bum which I never had a problem with. I had a wobble yesterday. Never planned ahead and had nothing tempting and low carb (couldn't face...

    sharps bins

I'm really surprised that folks have trouble with their sharps bins. At least our Council seems to have got something right :D

    Really, really confused....Type2.

I'm still not getting it, sorry :( When I go for my next blood test it's non-fasting. My averages on my meter are: 7 days 6.7 14 days 6.4 30 days 6.3 90 days 7.4 (these included some before I started LC/HF.) I know they're only as good as what I've recorded but I test morning on getting up...

    Really, really confused....Type2.

I'm confused now because you say Georgina's levels are only a little above the NICE recommendations but surely 6 is within non diabetic range i.e. under 7? I know it's probably me not understanding but I do need to understand because I was thinking my levels being in the 6s will show me as...

    Confused . Com

Not sure if I'm right here so feel free to correct me but I thought T1s were diagnosed early on, as in childhood as they were likely born with it whereas T2s are usually described as Late Onset Diabetes because it's more likely to happen as you get older? Probably talking out of my hat here -...

    sharps bins

My O/H's large bin used to last him ages but since I've been doing low carb and testing so frequently it's filling up at a rate of knots lately :D

    sharps bins

Down here in the South my husband just has to phone the Council and they tell him what day to put his full bin out in the porch and they collect it and leave him a replacement.

    Konjac noodles

I'll give them a go then, thanks x Now I just need some recipes for a low carb topping. I can't eat a lot of cheese.

    Konjac noodles

I looked at one of those on ebay (there's loads of them from different sellers but mostly from abroad if they're cheap) but I looked at the negative feedback and a lot of people said they were rubbish and fell to bits :( Put me off

    Konjac noodles

Oh dear :( I was browsing round H&B today and found the "Eat Water" rice, noodles, spaghetti and fettuccini on their "buy one and get one for a penny" sale so £2.50 for two packs didn't sound too bad. I sported a fiver and bought 4. Seemed like a good idea at the time, especially as they have...

    A Month Into Low Carbing

Yes I do measure but no change. Would like to have a waist again .. lol. You're right about not enough food but being a bit of a late riser and not fancying anything til later on I find breakfast tends to run into lunch a lot of times so it's "brunch". Maybe I should start setting the alarm...
