Who is deleting / editing Posts ??

Today's discussions have been really useful. I've posted the update above to the mods and they seem to be fine with it (mods aren't keen on sharing the reporter's username either). We'll be updating the forum rules in the next couple of days. The only thing that is left is more of an etiquette...

Who is deleting / editing Posts ??

Not quite sure what was meant by this - but it's not correct. DCUK is singlehandedly helping to change health outcomes and changing the concept of digital health. The DCUK forum is influencing change in an area where RCTs are king so the concept of bridging the gap between RCTs and a mass of...

Who is deleting / editing Posts ??

Yep, totally get the drift. I've just posted in the mods forum the post about editing/deleting threads. We should have that discussed and implemented shortly (i.e. 24-48 hours). Agreed - chit-chat should be allowed to continue. (i.e. it's OK!) And mods can perhaps ask to start new threads if...

Who is deleting / editing Posts ??

One more question - is it relevant to know the user who has reported the post, too?

    Just removed!

Who is deleting / editing Posts ??

Should we leave chit-chat posts in the threads then? So Off-topic posts within a thread are permitted. (If the OP complains, they can be removed?) @Brunneria - updated the reason list, do those reasons look complete?

Who is deleting / editing Posts ??

@Brunneria @zand This hasn't been shared with fellow moderators/Giverny yet (sorry Giv!) but we thought it was best to get this approved before letting everyone know. How does this look: Editing and deleting of posts When editing a post, please add 'Edited by moderator / reason: XXX' -...

Who is deleting / editing Posts ??

Interestingly enough, I was going to post it on this thread (literally for the case as discussed in this thread).

Would you want the reason, too?

Who is deleting / editing Posts ??

Weird - not sure why that would even be edited. Anyway, we'll ensure it doesn't happen going forward.

Who is deleting / editing Posts ??

@zand - we'll do that also. We're writing a document for Giv and fellow moderators and that is in there as of... now! :)

Who is deleting / editing Posts ??

Ha ha - no worries, it's easier to highlight the issue but a solution is usually something that takes a bit of thinking times! Yes, so what we'll have is something like http://puu.sh/kHul7/b7728b4925.png without the [Show] bit. But, if anyone wanted to see the messages deleted/edited, we can...

Who is deleting / editing Posts ??

Thanks Antony - We'd be very interested to discuss what could be done so not to stifle conversation, but somehow hide/edit posts that could be dangerous/misleading. Currently, any posts edited or deleted will be obvious to a) the user (OP who made the post) and b) moderators/admin as they can...

Who is deleting / editing Posts ??

@tim2000s mods/admin can see those so nothing is ever 'lost' as it were. We're working on tweaking the code so people can see why a post was edited/deleted and by who, rather than see the post itself (as otherwise that defeats the object!) o_O

Who is deleting / editing Posts ??

Anything done in the forum has a log assigned to it - from the first post, we can see 4 posts have been deleted: http://puu.sh/kHul7/b7728b4925.png http://puu.sh/kHukV/c15a30cf27.png And for the final post, http://puu.sh/kHuvP/3ef0717c36.png @diamondnostril - your point "If the Deletions and...

    The linked recipe page

@Flossy11 - it is for the recipe portion. Glad you like the app - there's a a 365 cookbook here too http://www.diabetes.co.uk/food/diabetes-cookbook.html - that may be easier for servings as the portions are reported per serving in a more obvious fashion at the bottom of the page.

    Who to contact

Hi @Artisticforge ! We're aware of the issues you're referring to, but unfortunately since our forum app is made by a large third-party developer, it's quite difficult to get them to take bug fixes seriously. I recommend using the forum in your browser rather than the app, as it's still mobile...

Type 1 Diabetes is killing me

In short: no, we do not have any crisis response steps. This is simply due to the fact that we don't have any identifiable information about our forum users (that includes phone numbers, full names, addresses etc.) other than email address. We have access to IP addresses, but contrary to popular...

Are you taking a new Type 2 Drug?

A journalist who writes for the Daily Mail is very interested in speaking to someone who has been prescribed one of the new types of medication for type 2 diabetes and who will talk about the experience and whether it's been helpful. They are especially interested in speaking to someone on any...
