Just trialing the new sanofi meter ,checked my post breakfast blood and wow 17.5 so rechecked with my usual accuchek expert meter and 12.3 Did the control solution on sanofi meter and its 7.6 then looked at acceptable range 5 to 9 but is that range too big to have any accuracy

I also love my echo pen and as im knocking on a bit the memory function is perfect

I think its an individual thing for instance levemir was like injecting water for me as it did nothing and now on lantus which seems longer and stronger but as i say its different for everyone

Just a thought did you know receptionists are not allowed to give out results other than "all normal" if you want more info your gp or diabetic nurse should discuss them with you if asked

Im now on lantus and it works well for me but i need to take it at breakfast and it keeps me steady for 24 hours

Thanks Robert thats what I guessed but nice to have it confirmed The gp who gave it to me on my request is not the diabetes gp at my practice and so did not want to bombard her with questions a pity because i hear that lantus takes a few days to settle and again a few days to be out of the body...

Just got script for lantus as levemir isnt good for me In your opinion would i use the same amount of units for either Am going to start with much less and build up but just wondered how others fared while changing

Beachbag I tested all the insulin pens a few years ago for diabetic research. All the pens lined up and had to do jab into a big sponge pad,most pens were ok but the solastar was awful and leaked insulin even after the usual count of ten when removed from the pad it dribbled very badly and so...

Need to try another basal insulin as levemir just doeset work for me and so want to try lantus but hesitate to ask gp for script as i think one cartridge alone cant be done Ant ideas:)

I too hate the slow carb counter of the insulinx. The roche meter works far quicker going up in increments of 10 gms then slowing down for the odd bits only problem with it is the large drop of blood needed
