    Recently diagnosed with type 2

Hi Jester 2 Welcome to the club and wonderful world we recently diagnosed Type 2's now inhabit. This new wordl is confusing at best, but it can be navigated, and a few wrong turns are par for the journey. Some advice on BG readings overnight while asleep

Hi helensaramay Thanks for the answer, and that others have experienced similar possibly due to laying on the sensor. Typical is it not, cause and effect: diabetic and jam doughnuts can still taunt you in your sleep, which could be my cutting out sugar in my tea and coffee:)

Some advice on BG readings overnight while asleep

Hi, some advice please. As a newbie to the 'Wonderful World of Type 2 Diabetes', and new owner of a Freestyle Libre, which I started with yesterday. Can someone with knowledge advise why during the night at around 3am, my levels would dip as they did and if this is normal, or something to...

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

6.4 today (finger prick), but was experimenting with food last night. I now know chilli con carne and a small portion of rice can have dramatic effects for me as seen on the readings on Freestyle Libre I now have. As a new user it can be quite dramatic seeing your readings rise like that for...

    NHS Dietitian Contradicting Himself

I must admit to struggling in these early days since being diagnosed in February 2018, as to what advice (or lack of) given by health professionals, and the experiences of the many on this web site, is the best to follow. Professionals are not infallible, and some make genuine mistakes, but it...

Poll: Which diabetes course(s) have you attended?

I did the Desmond course for type 2, recently, and while the information on diabetes and how affects body was useful to us newly diagnosed, the rest seemed to be a tick box presentation. The course was delivered at a fast pace, and little attention was paid to questions asked, with only those...

Newly diagnosed Type 2 + experiences so far

Hi to all First, please accept my apologies for the following long post about my experience so far and writing it for others to read has been somewhat cathartic. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes back in late Early February 2018, following a severe illness which resulted in full blood...
