Animas Vibe - pump is not primed

Ah so at least we have the same batch but different lots of it to try. Still find it weird though how so many Animas pumpers including many experienced ones are suddenly have bad BG and set problems. Animas used to be the more reliable brand. Not as fancy (no remote etc) but simple and reliable...

Animas Vibe - pump is not primed

@Spiker interesting! I have new reservoirs with that batch number and am experiencing bad high BG. I rarely change reservoir and cannula on same day but they happened to co-inside on Monday. This is the first reservoir from that batch and since change I've had to use 30-40% more temp basal plus...

Animas Vibe - pump is not primed

@Spiker dual correct. Assume the pump is giving some and then do smaller correction with pen in addition. 18-24 is far too high

Levels gone crazy (like pre pump crazy)

    @CarbsRok here's the link http://www.insulinpumpforums.com//index.php?s=88cb2364a5c50fed9b41b5c4d852d0a6&showtopic=5701&pid=45838&st=0&#entry45838

Levels gone crazy (like pre pump crazy)

CarbsRok is right Animas have numerous faulty batches doing the rounds. After the comment about the American forum I went on the hunt and found this issue on lots of pump forums. Animas have changed manufacturers and the new (cheaper I'm sure) sets aren't as good. One pumper has found a serious...

Yes I would phone Animas as sounds like you have a faulty pump

Levels gone crazy (like pre pump crazy)

I am on Animas vibe and use Inset II. Have been fine for 4 years until recently when BG went mad. I had a batch of faulty insets. Animas never openly admit this but from all fine to almost 100% set failure from a certain batch told me it was the sets. Tried sets from new batch and all fine. Call...

Full Contact Sports and Insulin Pumps

Actually you might have to be careful as most if not all pump manufacturers say pump must be removed for contact sport. The warranty would be invalid if the pump got damaged during them. During the training can you have the pump on a bench nearby and reconnect at hourly intervals to give...

Full Contact Sports and Insulin Pumps

I've been researching pumps as my first 4 years is up so can change if I want. I've come across users saying the issue with omnipod is if the pod gets a firm knock it fails and you need to replace pod. This might make omnipod unsuitable for your sport so just thought I'd mention it. What about...

    Tell me about Omnipod insertion

What made you choose omnipod over the other pumps? I am hoping my DSN will let me trial a pod at my clinic but maybe they can't do that as I guess you'd need the pump?

    Tell me about Omnipod insertion

Hello I'm on Animas Vibe and am now due for new pump and am considering the Omnipod. The thing is I have needle phobia so a self inserting cannula sounds great. Does it hurt a lot though? Also I have lots of moles on my body. With the Insets I can see where the needle is going and avoid...

    Basal testing

Use this guide to help you http://diatribe.org/issues/26/thinking-like-a-pancreas I wait 48 hours after a change if I can but if I was getting very high or low BG I would change again sooner. I was told to test BG 3 times a night but I tested every hour to give me a really accurate picture...

Al this hot weather ... too many hypos

Sally a combo bolus is when you stagger the insulin for food across a set period instead of giving it all upfront. So for example for 40g carbs I would normally give say 5 units upfront before eating. With a combo I would give a set % upfront and the rest over a longer period such as 2 hours. I...

Al this hot weather ... too many hypos

I have this too and it's very annoying! I reduce my basal overnight and eat some extra carbs to try and counter it but I find it hit and miss. I have to be very careful if I bolus and then go out in the heat as it makes my insulin absorb much faster causing massive hypo. In this instance I would...

Fed up with sore sites - thoughts please

I must admit I hadn't considered the sticky causing it. It's certainly stuck very well when I come to remove them so don't think they are less secure. I also don't have any rash or skin reaction underneath and the soreness feels like it's inside, plus now it can be painful to bolus. I have just...

Fed up with sore sites - thoughts please

Also just to add the sore sites don't seem to be effecting my BG rates. Just all very sore. Initially I was changing them because of soreness but now there seems little point and I just put up with the pain for 3 days. Sometimes it lessens and also I can take ibuprofen for it. Pumping isn't...
