    Inset II Problems

I have been having trouble with inset IIs recently, as has a friend of mine. A little while ago the insets changed and have become very hard to pull back and just feel cheaper quality. I always ask for one box of pink with my grey so that I have a different batch number to test when issues...

Fed up with sore sites - thoughts please

I've now been on the pump just short of 4 years. I rotate religiously and each site ends up with a break of 3-4 weeks before reuse. I'm not using the centre part of my stomach around the belly button due to scar tissue from years of injecting. I use the very edge of my tummy all the way round to...

Occlusion alarm suddenly going off lots

So do you have alarm on high then with no problems? With my old 2020 I had it on high and was told not to by diabetic nurse as it's too sensitive. I did prime the tube each time as you have to anyway after an occlusion alarm. Primed fine each time. Previously I've only ever had the alarm on...

Occlusion alarm suddenly going off lots

My last set change 3 days ago appeared fine. I do my change at lunch mostly and then I can eat and test set is working. BG were fine but at dinner I went to bolus and occulsion alarm went off. I'm on the animas vibe and this alarm rarely goes off but is normally correct so I pulled set. There...

    Mio cannula set and DKA

I haven't used the Mio but a couple of cannula fails wouldn't be unusual with any set. Have you considered user error rather than set error? A kinked cannula can happen to any of us with teflon sets, especially if not fired perfectly or inserted near scar tissue or muscle etc. The other time you...

    Leaking like a sieve

Spiker animas tubing lasts 5-6 days max and less in hot weather. The tubing degrades and the insulin leaks. I gave up trying to keep track of changing my tubing seperate to filling my reservoir and just change them together which is roughly every 3-4 days. Glad you're feeling better now though.

Supplements for skin healing on pump

I have tried Bio oil before but maybe I used too much because I felt greasy for ages afterwards! What tips do you all have for using it to keep pumping skin healthy please?

    The pump and your relationship

Honestly it can be tricky at first. I have a wonderful husband who didn't have an issue with the pump being attached but I have found it difficult to adjust. It took me time to get used to being connected all the time, let alone during intimacy. I was so terrified of catching the tubing or...

Supplements for skin healing on pump

I've been pumping 3 years now and have noticed some of my sites aren't healing as well as they used to. I rotate between all the sites I can on my stomach, hips and between ribs but legs and arms aren't an option as no fat plus I'm partially sighted so can't see those properly. I've ordered...

    Bleeding infusion site

What sets and lengths are you currently using? Are you on any medication which effects your blood? Have you tried the area above the waistline and below the bust - between the ribs I get a row of 4-5 sites in.

    Thirsty but not high

Carbsrok the only thing I'm taking is Alphagan eye drops. Been on these for a while and although I can't rule them out as the cause I also can't change drops as I reacted to just about every other eye drop with bad nausea. Hooked I have wondered about this and am going to take a multivitamin...

    Thirsty but not high

Still getting bouts of this like this and thought I'd bump old thread incase anyone had found the answer? My doctor didn't seem interested when I said BG was normal.

    Cannula site infection

What length cannula are you using? Are you putting them in places you injected for a long time? If so it might be scar tissue causing problems. I can't put my sets round my tummy due to years of injecting. Maybe try your hips? You also might be reacting to teflon in the cannula so worth trying...

    Dog walking on insulin pump

Thanks Emma - any ideas how much to try reducing by please? Also how long to have temp rate on - just the hour before or during walk as well?

    Dog walking on insulin pump

Hello We've moved recently and I am now able to take my dogs for lovely walks around a local wildlife area. I am hoping this will also help me lose some weight. The problem is I don't walk the dogs at the same time each day so how can I manage insulin/blood sugars for this? I walk for about 40...

    My latest Animas inset II.

Hhmm in that case it might be worth you trying steel sets. I tried them and quite liked them except my sugars went crazy after set changes. This was possibly due to needing the longer ones. I worked through the inset issues in my own case as I have a son with special needs so can't be changing...

    My latest Animas inset II.

Another thing I forgot to say is make sure you aren't pushing the set onto your skin as you fire. You need to just float it on the surface. Pushing firmly down at the same time kinks the cannula with Insets.

    My latest Animas inset II.

Hello. There are a few things to try that might help as I've had inset issues in the past: Firstly always try to fire standing up as this works better for most people. Are you double checking the tubing is sitting in the slot correctly right before firing? If not this bends the cannula on...

What's the issue with Animas Inset IIs?

Hello. I'm on holiday and just had a failed inset for no reason. I rarely get failed sets these days but if I do I can see blood in the set or a kinked cannula. This looked perfect but didn't work. Scanning this forum I noticed people saying there have been issues with these sets recently. Can...
