OMG @tim2000s I can't believe no-one's replied to this: I AM SO EXCITED BY THIS!!!! :woot::):D:woot::D:) ..... I am already *ridiculously* excited that I'm getting my pump on Tuesday... and was just a *teeny* bit disappointed that to look at what the CGM is doing I have to look at the actual...

Is it just me that feels better running at around 7?

6 is my magic, feel good number :-) ... Lower and I start to feel wobbly and anxious, higher and I start to feel that terrible; slow brain and lower mood... At around 6 I notice I feel significantly lighter in my mood and quicker thinking too. So 6ish is my happy place :-)

    Ulcer?

Ouch! :-( ... Sounds frustrating... And painful...! Hope they can offer a solution for you; know some people use a barrier spray to stop them having a reaction to the cannula tape...? The other reaction I've heard people have is to the Teflon sets, and for them using steel sets work better...

    One week to go...!

PS .... Loosely, indirectly in amongst the huge relief I have around soon having the pump I'm actually having a bit of a bum day {actually, that's a ridiculous understatement -- an utterly miserable day would be more accurate} so thanks all for being so lovely and funny and making me smile and...

    One week to go...!

@Flowerpot -- I know!! Never ever imagined I would get excited about getting permanently attached to a piece of technology!! ... Honestly that's the only bit I'm still unsure of... Being a single gal n' all... But -- you all say that the benefits WAY out weigh any of that and so... Excitement it is!

    One week to go...!

@Celsus -- you really made me laugh too!! To answer your and @Heathenlass q re which insulin I'm going to be using: it's back to novorapid for now... I didn't want to do *anything* that might put them off me having a pump so... We'll see. Actually quite curious cos I think it was the Lantus and...

Medtronic 640g and Enlite sensor life

Flowerpot are you on facebook? I definitely know some people on their have extended their sensors... I couldn't tell you specifically how because I don't have a pump/Cgm yet so it's all slightly 'foreign' to me, but I do know I've seen people with 640gs extend them because I was thinking how...

Does this happen to all Type 1's...?

... Clearly it's not just me...!! :D --- I've had all the above too I think; one friend is a nutritionist and asks me *everytime* I see her; 'tell me why they think you're type 1 again...?" -- and I say 'because my GAD antibodies, which is meant to be below 5, came back at 1,800 higher than my...

Does this happen to all Type 1's...?

Last night I had *yet another* frustrating conversation about being diabetic.... Friend (who knows I'm type 1 from previous conversations): when do you get your insulin pump? Me: 10 days time, should be great! Friend: how long have you been diabetic? Me: about two and a half years...

    Vitamin B12 levels

OMG yes!! What's really bizarre is that I don't eat meat so should be a classic target for low B12 -- but mine has consistently hovered around the low 1,000 mark for years! I do take a multi vit with a B-complex in and have spoken to various nutritionists about whether I should stop taking it...
