    What are realistic morning readings?

Aw I know lovely @noblehead - I didn't mean to be asking if you can advise - just trying to work it out - n you lot often know more than the peeps at my hospital....! :-) Anyway - I do know I have to speak to them - and will... My GP is trying to get me into a different team, so fingers crossed...

    What are realistic morning readings?

@noblehead - the baby thing is why I'm feeling a little more concerned about the morning no's - cos I know they want (and we should aim for) as close as non-diabetic numbers as possible in pregnancy.... the problem is that if I speak to my team, they will tell me I need to switch back to...

    What are realistic morning readings?

Erm.... well - I'm super sleepy in the mornings.... Takes me a while to get going and certainly don't wake with a "zing" - but it's been literally about three years (maybe more) since I've had a fasting blood sugar below 6 (I was thought to be "prediabetic" for a while before realising I was...

So here's a heart attack for all the good LADAs....

... Did they just give it to you to take home...? Didn't they get you to do your first injection with them...? That's what happened to me, so I assumed everyone... Anyway - more importantly - have you taken it yet? :-) Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    What are realistic morning readings?

Hi all, I know many of us have experience of the 'fun' of trying to overcome the dawn phenomenon without causing ourselves to have nighttime hypos... I just wondered, what numbers do you consider to be 'ok' for your morning (fasting) reading? I ask as I'm currently still mostly waking at 7 or...

    Nervously excited...

... Just had my HbA1c back - 6.4 - and a go ahead to start trying...! I know I'm about a week away from my period, so too late this month - but from next month me & the beau will be officially trying for a baby... Which I'm kinda terrified about (will I cope with the pregnancy and managing the...

    Insulin weight gain....?

Same... Two months on analogues = 8lb weight gain; despite good control. One month off analogues / 3 weeks on porcine = 4lb weight loss. Nothing else has changed in terms of diet/lifestyle etc... I hadn't lost weight prior to starting the analogue insulins as my diagnosis was gradual... Too...

    Honeymoon Period. Insulin free???

... I'm thinking about a pump, but literally have no idea how to go about it... Did you just ask for one, and now you're waiting to get one...? :) Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Split basal

Can you ask to change to Levemir...? My understanding is its better suited for splitting doses - though I may have misunderstood something about Lantus... Either way, I split my Levemir and all was good, from a numbers perspective. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Honeymooners!?

... Also a fellow honeymooner - started insulin three months ago after getting away with not taking it for a while.... all in all things relatively steady - but having said that, I've changed my basal three times in those three months, so still trying to settle into things.... And yes...

    Changed Pen Needles

Same :-) Morning basal = bum All daytime bolus = tum (rotating from left side to right side weekly, and rotating around each side with each injection) Nightime basal = thighs :-) Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Baby cards?

Hmm... I don't mean to sound negative but it comes across a little suspect that your first ever post is a link to a product.... @Giverny...? Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Changed Pen Needles

I use different ones depending where I'm injecting - 8mm for my backside and middle part of my belly (I have a little more fat there) and 6mm for the outer part of my belly and thighs... Like you I'm slim with an in range BMI and this seems to work for me... See how you get on with the 6mm :-)...

First time being ill since diagnosis - advice please...

Thank you... Interesting both you & @Heathenlass don't notice a difference - I'm using twice as much insulin as normal, and eating half the number of carbs I'd eat, and still in double figures. I keep on taking more insulin, eating less food, and thinking 'I'm going to have overdone it now and...
