Hi @slickgd, Alex, what a powerful post. Thank you for sharing. Very open and honest and, i feel, extremely helpful to newbies and others who may be struggling. What a rollercoaster you have been on. I hope your doctor's appointment goes well. You have made significant changes that will...

These are old now but will give you an idea. Keep meaning to update. You certainly don't need to starve. I eat plenty and maintain my weight nicely. It's all in what you eat re blood sugar control (and trying to eliminate stress and get a good night's sleep. Meds can put up too as well as...

Couldn't get on the forum yesterday.. said error every time I tried. Apologies for the delay. Check out Ancel Keys info online. Basically it's down to him that fat was alienated from what I can understand. 3 macros - carbs protein and fat. So if you are avoiding fat you eat more carbs and...

Oh no. That's a shame :-( Before low fat guidelines came in the advice for t2d was low carb high healthy fat. i have a folder full of previous guidelines dating back to 1910 up to @1980. And now we have advice like the examples attached, which would have made my t2d progressive for sure. I've...

Oh boy you are going through a stressful time. New baby in the mix too. Your hba1c is good at 27. Brilliant actually. But I have learned that you can have a normal hba1c but suffer the consequences and complications of insulin resistance. Your symptoms could be linked but then again they may...

It's quite a long story. But this is how it went in a nutshell. Grab a coffee and cream ;-) we could be some time..... I was dx t2d December 17 - gutted. Googled reversing diabetes - found dcuk and the answers!!! Reversed my symptoms relatively quickly and easily and got my hba1c down in...

Hi @Rach612 You are very kind. I just do what I do trying to make some ripples at least. We are up against Goliath! I am NOW a slim t2d. Thin some would say. I lost over 50lbs in 7 months and have maintained since. It will be 3 years next month. Still have to pinch myself. I find weighing...

I am no superstar that is for sure. @bulkbiker is too kind. I just want to try and help in my own way, as and when I can. I am currently working with 5 local GP surgeries (with the social prescribing team for obesity and diabetes) and much of my time is taken up there. I was very active on here...

    CGM fell off- what now?

What a shame it fell off. Don't worry, there's nothing left in. I've used a libre sensor for about 18 months. Only one has fallen off. I think I've been lucky to be honest. You can get protectors. Not sure how effective they are (I've never used them) but I expect they do their job. Good luck...

    What’s for breakfast today?

Brunch - Cheese omelette in my omelette maker. Highly recommended (the omelette AND the maker. ;-)

    What’s for breakfast today?

1 pork sausage (Heck are my favourites) with scrambled eggs. Cup of tea. It was between this and a slice of millionaire shortbread my husband made earlier in the week for dessert! Saving this for afternoon delights, be rude not to I feel. ;-)
