I use it for digestion and if I have any heartburn. I love coffee. My grandmother urged me to use it 40 years ago.

    Banting's Keto Diet

1650 Richard Baxter gave similar advice for the overweight. BC Solomon Warned that excessive honey would cause sickness. I also enjoyed Banting’s writing style. Thanks for posting

Type 2 Eat to the meter, or play the long game?

I came here hoping for very low moderate interference. I’m discouraged to read that comments are being deleted. Personal attacks, foul language —I get it. But it quickly moves to the reference point popular today of “I’m offended.” I hope the board allows for spirited discussion.

    Cholesterol/statins And Other Bunkum

I feel queasy thinking about my prescription of statins I was forced to fill but will never put in my body. My doc understands but not those who sign his paycheck.

    Beware the Bacon

You ask a question. It’s legitimate to ask. The Global Warming “settled” science has 50 years of 100% failed predictions. Al Gore has gotten wealth from the green companies. Global Warming became “climate change” after a few years of cooling. Next, politicians are competing for votes using...

    Beware the Bacon

Hey I hope I’ve not offended anyone about Dr Malhotra. If you look to govt (politicians) for your answers, you’ll get “interested” view points; funded, Lobby’d, $ influenced. It leads to trouble. He is doing the same thing Ancel Keys did—even if I agree w his opinions, it’s trouble...

    Beware the Bacon

Two thoughts 1. I’ve made bacon at home. It’s time consuming & I’ve purchased it regularly. I eat it 7 mornings a week. 2. Dr Malhotra has been pushing for healthy eating & has said a lot of good things He’s also now looking to the same source that got the western world in trouble...

Type 2 Eat to the meter, or play the long game?

I’m likely on a similar path and am here: “I can tolerate ________, but do I really need/want it?” Unless I try something new, I don’t need to test much, if at all. More curiosity, methinks, than necessity.

    World Carnivore Month Results

Is it that our guts must adjust w varying levels (or type?) of enzymes for digestion? At this point, a slice of Einkorn flour made bread will hit me hard in the stomach and it takes days to rebound.

    Apple Cider Vinegar

I think it may have something to do with slowing absorption of carbs. When I went very low carb, ACV didn’t impact levels.

Type 2 Eat to the meter, or play the long game?

Does the former lead to the latter? The more you test the less you test?

    Mortality Rates Thought

For the most part, regarding health, I simply repeat what I’ve been told by others. “Eat low fat heart healthy grains...” has now changed. Yet, I don’t want to simply repeat the same mantras that, for example, Jason Fung says, as if it’s an axiom no different from Ancel Keys. I’m a Fung fan...

Lower blood sugars but higher cholesterol

During weight loss on healthy diet like yours, lipids can go the opposite direction... At first. I’ve experienced it & researched others. Those who stay the course see the numbers resolve. Mine “improved” once the weight loss stopped. I wonder if increase in cholesterol is the body...

    protein

Resistance training damages muscle. Protein is used in repairing. I used to, many years ago, use protein shakes. Arnold was injecting massive amounts of testosterone while telling others to drink a gallon of milk post work out. I think the protein naturally balanced w far from whole food...

    Cholesterol help!

Won’t take statins as I watched them destroy my parents. I’ve read too much on them. I filled Rx, to not be labeled “trouble” or be booted out
