I low carb for breakfast and lunch. Evening time I'm more sensitive to insulin so can up my carb intake. I was a strict low carber i.e. 30g per day for almost 3 years and it's very restrictive , I actually found my A1C improved (slightly) when I upped my carbs. I've added Pizza and fish n'...

    Dread before appt tomorrow

I personally look forward to my appointments except for the inevitable waiting time. If I turn up late i'm still early. My doctor or anyone in the practice can't teach me anything further about diabetes management or complain about my control. Generally the appointment turns into an exchange of...

Only one tip from me , carry all your medical supplies in your hand luggage. A few weeks ago my suitcase was lost en route to my destination :-( It eventually turned up 24 hours later.

Type 1s: Stupid non diabetic bingo

One that grates me still is when I'm told about the diabetic distant relative or friend of a friend who manages diabetes perfectly and finds it easy & never any problems etc . When I ask for more details of their methods of control , blood sugar results , how long they've been diagnosed etc...

Type 1 and low carb -how low do you go?

Thanks Ed. Interesting comments. Your HbA1c is really good , if you're not comfortable with going lower then I wouldn't try it. What type are you ? I only partially low carb these days. After diagnosis I followed a strict < 30 gram per day of carbs diet for over 3 years. If I don't exercise...
