Has any pump user been eligible for 4th booster?

I haven't heard anything but it hasn't been 6 months since my last jab

    Children with Diabetes

Not necessarily. Admittedly I'm not a child, but I've never been pale when hypo and very rarely sweaty, when I was younger I definitely never had sweaty hypos. Hi @mISSLGR, obviously the best thing to do would be to check with her parents/guardians what signs they usually notice if she is low...

Getting hold of Diabetic specialist nurses?

The diabetes centre I attend has several DSNs (I'm still not sure if there's one in particular who is 'mine' :nailbiting:) and when you phone you leave a message and someone rings you back, I haven't rang since last year but in the past they have phoned back within 2 hours (sometimes it's been...

    What happens now

Hi @borderter, best thing to do is ring 111 if you're in the UK. I agree with @In Response, dodgy insulin is the most likely cause aside from any illness/stress/hormones/bad nights sleep etc etc. Make sure you have some hypo treatment handy as you may drop hard and fast

    Hello

Hello @Joco1971, welcome :) I'm assuming you are type 2? I'm type 1 so can't offer any advice, I'm sure some type 2 people will be along shortly to share their wisdom.

    Teeth!!!

My teeth are rubbish, I've had many broken teeth starting about 7 years ago. I had to have a molar pulled after it was root canalled and crowned as it cracked (the root canal and crown was because it broke) :( I put it down to a few things including previously not going to the dentist often...

    Thyroid issues.

I have hypothyroidism. My GP said it was "subclinical" and to wait and see if it sorted itself out (I think my TSH was 9) and I did that for a while but then went back and said I'd like to start medication and they agreed. I started on 50mcg levothyroxine and am now on 100mcg, although my TSH...

    Going out for a meal

Same :arghh: My old DSN said "have your bolus extended for as long as you normally feel full" ok, well that's about half an hour :hilarious: I think she suggested 6 hours, but I haven't worked out what works best for me yet.

    Omnipod pump or solo oump

Hmm well if you want to buy your own pump you have the choice of all the options, otherwise I think you'd have to make a good argument to the relevant people for why you want a different pump. I had a choice of 2 (but not really, I use too much insulin for an Omnipod) and the consultants and...

    Diabetic Psychologist reviews

I used to see a psychologist a long time ago, I imagine it'd be a bit different as I was a teenager so it was a child psychologist. It was about my diabetes (referred through the diabetes clinic) but they weren't just a diabetes psychologist. I was 14/15 when I used to go and I'm 34 now so my...

GP diagnosed me with Eczema | Suitable treatments?

Oats are supposed to be good for eczema, you can put them in a bath (in a bag, not loose :D) or you can get creams with oat in, if you google colloidal oat you should get some better info than I have. Otherwise calendula is good, I use it on my dodgy skin conditions, the one I use is calendula...

What is the no 1 thing that frustrates you about living with type 1 diabetes?

All of it! Not sure I can pick one thing. But maybe that it just keeps getting harder and more unpredictable :( I thought it would get easier to deal with, but nope, no such luck.

Pump delivered to my address, what next?

I have a Medtronic pump but when I first started with it I had 2 group training sessions at the hospital with DSNs and a rep, first one we set up the pump with saline and then the next session was a week later and we started insulin. The next pump was an upgrade but still Medtronic so just the...

Type 1 Who are you under for your diabetic care? GP, Practice Nurse or DSN.

I see a consultant at a hospital clinic, where there are also DSNs and dietitians. Bloods, foot checks and retinopathy checks are done there too. I see my GP for a "diabetes review" once a year, which involves blood tests and a chat about any problems. I've never seen the diabetes nurse at the...

    How long till Libre 2?

Hi @Ipodlistener, I suspect things like that vary massively between different hospitals so your best bet would probably be to ask the dietitian or your DSN. When I changed from Libre 1 to 2 I didn't know that was happening until I got a letter telling me and I think it had a code I had to put on...
