I am certainly not flying the flag for low carb or lower carb...just saying that reducing them can help with DP, especially if you don't have insulin to help you out..

The thinking behind low carb is that the body won't have access to quickly absorbed carbs and subsequent glucose and so the liver can't set it aside in its stores. And yeah...I am not saying it can be eliminated, it will always happen as a result of the fast but the effects we see can be tamed...

I never managed to beat the dawn phenomenon, hence the pump.... I think a sustained low carb diet would help towards tackling it... especially for those diabetics not being treated with insulin...

Both your Lantus doses are independent, so what you need overnight wont have any bearing on the day....you should also try and only change one thing at a time..... from the last few days I would say the 6 units of Lantus at night is pretty much there, so it can be ticked off as correct for...

How many units were intended to go in? Did you wait a few seconds? You would really need to proceed assuming some of the dose went in.....and then just keep an eye on it......if your confident the dose was right and timed right and the 2 hour test is going really high you could correct...

Well, it has been said that the more units you take the longer it lasts, however its still within the advertised action time.... so 2 units would likely only last the minimum time, where as 37 units would be up a the other end of the scale.....everyone reacts differently though so that's why...

I can understand the logic though......if overnight you're running a smidgen lower, your liver may feel the need to assist more upon waking..... the number range you described is just so small that its likely just the discrepancy of the meter....
