Doctors told to adapt their language around diabetes patients

I absolutely hated being referred to as "non-compliant", bit of a trigger for me. Why bother when I'm written off. We know how difficult it is.

    Pre employment medical questionnaire

Hi Looking for some advice please. I have to fill in a medical questionnaire and take it with me to interview in sealed envelope. OK to declare type 1 and high blood pressure (all controlled well) but its asking me if I give permission for my GP to release my medical records. It is also asking...

    Worried sick

I was diagnosed at 14 with type 1 and internalised my depression/anxiety which is just as bad. At least you know how troubled your daughter is and are trying to help which is all you can do. It's so difficult at her age, I don't feel I really was allowed to be a child tbh. If you can arrange...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

The effort that went in to achieve 38 this month, with obviously more hypos but not many and only very mild ones too, I only know I can't change what I'm doing. I cannot relax at all. But that is reality.

    Type 1 diabetes and metformin?

Hello I've been recently in the same boat, with similar ratios, even eating low carb. Decided to try metformin 500g x 2 daily. Been on this for 4 weeks, no issues apart from a minor rash on my back (cannot be certain it is the metformin) which went after 4 days. I believe it takes a few weeks...

    Sick of my pump already!!!!

Have to agree that the issue is not the pump as I'm having similar issues adjusting my basal on an MDI regime. Stick with it.
