My eyesight returned back to normal in a couple of weeks .... It was awful for a time though - could not read a book or mag, but my far distance improved (now gone back to normal)

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

7.6 this morning Not measuring as much (but still do have strips on prescription) I have to adjust to having 1x glic a day and not 2x .... perhaps work harder at getting lower figures, just not last night as was celebrating with sisters and had a chinese takeaway :)

How long have I been Type 2?

I agree with this this totally. Life is too short to worry about "what if's" ... What's done is done and you CAN deal with the issues you have now, worrying about what caused them will not really help you or make you feel better. Look to see what you can do about making you feel better, both...

    Step into Spring

I think my other half would feel abandoned if I went 6x times a week - I dont think the gym has that many classes. I did enjoy it and I even enjoyed the session on Tuesday. Feeling revitalised strangely enough. I did have a slight issue with the trainer though - he took my blood pressure about...

    Type 2 Life

Saw the doc this morning. He reduced my Glic by half - one a day now and has given me meds for thyroid. Hopefully I will start to lose weight soon - he even said I had done amazingly well and he could suggest I talk to the lifestyle nurse, but said with my knowledge about diabetes and...

    Step into Spring

Took the plunge literally. Went (alone) to an Aquacise class - first one ever. This was after having a walk after tea to get my steps. I didn't want to go, but the class started at 8pm. I am already booked in for next week ....

    Regular moderate exercise log

Done it. Went to the local pool, alone, and for the first time in about 20 yrs went into the water - to do Aquacise. It took a lot of mental effort to leave the house and get there for 8pm - but it was worth it. I feel revitalised now. Gym programme scheduled for next Monday and have booked...

    Type 2 Life

I am doing something wrong ... I am paying £35 a month for this membership! The equipment they have is top notch and you can log your activities with the smart card - all very high tech - I hope my new earphones arrive so I can hook in to TV whilst I train ...

    Type 2 Life

Not too happy with the gym experience. The trainer was 5 minutes late and then took my blood pressure - the first machine did not work and he eventually took about 5 readings as he reckons my Systolic readings were high at 155 and wants my GP to sign a letter saying its ok for me to train. I...

    Type 2 Life

Delaying having a shower and breakfasting. I go to the gym to sort out a fitness programme today and am quite excited about it. I want to breakfast late as I dont really want to start to go hypo at 11.30/12.00 (my usual time for that) and once I have showered, will probably spend ages working...
