    Type 3C with colitis

Most diets aimed at diabetics are aimed at T2's. With your T3C, you're more like a T1 when it comes to adjusting your insulin to the food you eat. With T3C or T1 you don't produce your own insulin, so we have to supplement what our body doesn't make. It doesn't necessarily need a special diet...

    Easy To Make Pesto

I once made a pesto much like yours, except I used nettle leaves instead of basil, tasted very good! Young nettles are the best for cooking so this would have to wait for spring. Oh, and don't taste it right away like I did, it takes a little while for the sting to disappear from the nettles...

High blood but not eating, how?

Hi @Maurice McNelis , In addition to the questions above, what type of yoghurt do you eat? How many carbs does it have? Do you adjust your insulin doses based on the amount of carbs in your meals?

    Hello one and all

The dose depends on your blood glucose. Are you regularly testing with a fingerprick? If you feel dizzy or have a balance problem, you must test to make sure your blood glucose is not too low.

    Hello one and all

I like to do it last thing before turning off the light, I'm most likely to remember at that time. :)

    Slightly confused

If your pancreas has atrophied and if this has caused your diabetes, have you asked your pancreatic surgeon why it would not be T3C?

I didn't even know that runner beans turned into beans to be shelled if you let them grow longer! (I buy my runner beans and all other veggies from the supermarket, and sometimes from a roadside seller with a box to put your money in. No talent for growing stuff myself at all.) I love runner...

    Dextro Energy Tablets

I took it to DM as to not derail this thread, us both being on insulin. ;)

Is it safe to stay in your 4s mmol

Are you on medication that can cause hypos?

    Dextro Energy Tablets

Hi @tinyf , welcome to the forum. According to your profile, the only medication you're on for your diabetes is metformin, which is not a medication associated with hypos. Do you have a particular reason to expect going too low? And to answer your question: I'm a T1 diabetic and use insulin...

    iPhone?

My apologies. I use android so I'm not sure with which iPhones it will work. I tried to be helpful by letting you know you can buy a 20 or 30 £ android tag instead of a complete new phone.

    iPhone?

In that case, I'd buy an Android tag instead of an Apple tag.

    iPhone?

Hi @Coffeemonster , Does she have a smartphone with her? If so, you can locate her by using an app called find my device: https://www.android.com/intl/en_ca/learn-find-my-device/ Or have a google search on Android GPS tracker, those should work with your phone. Much easier and cheaper than...

This picture should have gone with my previous post, and to be honest I thought nothing had posted before closing the laptop on the bridge. It was beautiful, and hopefully it will be again tomorrow morning! I almost missed my swim this morning. Right when I was in my bathing gown next to my...

    Possible T1.5

With your GP thinking you may have ketosis prone diabetes, or Flatbush, or LADA, a borderline C-peptide test, and multiple bouts of pancreatitis which could be an indication of T3C, I don't understand at all how your GP thinks it's a good idea to have your diabetes managed by their practice...

Too bad you don't live closer @debs248 , I'd be happy to go swimming together. If you can make it happen with someone at some point, what about not bothering with slowly getting dressed after the swim but wrapping yourself up in a warm blanket in the car, and get dressed at your leisure, at...

Type 1 BG rises rapidly at 6am most mornings

This is what I do, I inject before getting out of bed for the rise I know will happen, regardless of breakfast.

I had a very enjoyable evening wih my date! He had invited me for dinner at a restaurant, and I had razor clams, very hard to find and I love them! They came in a creamy garlic sauce with some bread, nothing else. :) Very interesting conversation too, and after dinner we went to my place and...

How do they close a lake? Lakes are quite big, can nobody get close to the lake all winter? I bought a tow float when I started regular swims almost two years ago. I haven't used it for about a year now. Still happy I have one for visibility in case I want to swim where ships are, or in case I...
