    anyone changed insulin before?.

When I was first diagnosed, I was taking Humalog. A couple months later, I changed to Novolog due to a change in insurance (or something like that, I'm not exactly sure what happened), but right before Thanksgiving, I was switched back to Humalog, which is what I am currently on. Both insulins...

Type 1 child: Are Ballet Dancing and string instruments ok?

I am a cellist, and my fingers are fine when I play my instrument. I make sure I don't overdo my playing and if my fingers start feeling a little funny, I let my teacher know. It doesn't happen very often, but after playing consistently for a long period of time, it will make the fingers feel a...

explaining what it's really like to live with Type 1

I am going to try and put this in a way that is not a million page essay that takes forever to read so I am going to try and put it in a few sentences. First of all, I have only had Type 1 Diabetes for about a year and it was very stressful, but fun. It was stressful finding out that I had...

Anonymous Question Lump where I've been injecting

Like some have been saying, you might have a lump depending on where you inject your insulin. If you are injecting your insulin in the same spot every time you get an injection, this could be the cause of your lumps. I don't know if you know this or not, but you can give your shots in you...

    Pumps - are they uncomfortable?

My pump is not uncomfortable at all!! As long as you put it in fat and not in your muscle. When you go to sleep at night, try and make the tubing under your clothing so it doesn't wrap around you in your sleep. Hope this helps.

    Diabetes - new : )

Like @Llinz04 said, eating good foods helps control your glucose. Once your number level out and are more consistant, you can eat more of the foods you are used to. When I was diagnosed, I had to get salads and VERY healthy and picky foods. You probably don't need to go that far, but still...

    Injection or pump?

(I have Tandem t:slim G4 Insulin pump, so think about that when reading this) In my opinion, I think there are so many good things about getting a pump rather than injections because first, you don't have to poke your self as much and you can just enter in the amount of insulin you need to take...
