    Not cared for myself

Hi - sorry to hear about your Mum - I had exactly the same thing last year (just before I got diagnosed) - I know how down you can get. I'm sure the stress doesn't do your BG levels any good - it didn't with me. Are you T1 or T2? Do you try to regulate your BG through diet? The high levels in...

    MCT Oil....Anybody using it?

OK so saw @Indy51 s suggestion re. MCT Oil on the "constipation" thread - I didn't know what it was so looked it up - seems too good to be true! Found some on Amazon (KetoPerformance) that gets good reviews but a bit pricy (£19 for 500ml ). BUT - has anybody used it? Is it as good as it...

    Personal independence payment

So what do they expect people to live on in the meantime? Fresh air? Absolutely disgraceful. But when Buck House needs tarting up (£350-odd million) it's "how would you like it, your Maj - £50s OK?"

    Constipation

I had the same problem - only it wasn't so much a stool, more of an armchair (ouch)! (Sorry). However, the psyllium husk did the trick - I find it is much less harsh than magnesium sulphate based products such as Epsom salts or Andrews, etc. As far as what to eat goes, I usually have...

Why the opposition to low carb?

Another wise man (me) also said "The mind is like a parachute - if you don't have it repacked every 6 months, you'll be knackered when you go to use it....."

    Athletes Foot... related to diabetes?

I have heard that poor blood supply to the feet can result in an aggravated form of Tinea taking hold. Certainly being diabetic won't help - if I were you, I'd be seeking a medical opinion and get some industrial strength cream prescribed for it. Once you've got rid of it, use a good athletes...

    So beans don't require insulin?

And this should deter those that are still enthusiastic about our little orange mates (no, not Donald).. Found in a tin of beans bought in Peterlee.....Yummy! (not). Looks similar to what was served up on the mining ship Nostromo, prior to Mr. Hurt's case of indigestion......"In space, no-one...

    So beans don't require insulin?

????? This has got to be one of the best pieces of "advice" I've seen for ages.....don't know whether to laugh or cry.... Yeah, and so is blissful ignorance! Luckily, my Doctor & DN are pretty switched on.....when I had my 1st meeting with the DN, I was asked if i had seen the "Blood Sugar...

    Type 2 Am I diabetic?

Yes, change of diet can do profound things....have you got a meter to see if you are a sensitive to carbs? Were you stressed out at the time of the original test? Don't get me wrong - I'm very pleased you are doing so well but treat this as a "wake-up" call...no smoke without fire & all that. If...
