    Injured toe

That's what I thought. Unfortunately I've got to walk around Legoland all day on Wednesday and was hoping to go in flip flops as it's going to be a hot day. Think I might need to invest in some decent trainers instead. That'll smell nice by the end of the day Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Injured toe

This might not be the right place for this question but I need some advice. I think I might have broken one of my toes. Is it worth going to A&E? Doesn't hurt to walk on but started to go purple on the top about half hour after I did it. Feels a bit throbby now (4 hours later). Don't want to...

    Strange

I definitely agree about adrenaline raising BG levels. When I was 16 I was running down a hill and tripped landing on my head. 10 mins later I wax throwing up and taken to hospital with concussion. They did a finger prick on me then all he'll broke loose. I was rushed into intensive care with a...

    retinal eye screening

When I go to my screening appointments they always ask if I drove and will be driving back. If you say yes they will not put the drops in and instead make a new appointment as u are not supposed to drive for 8 hours after having the drops put in. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

Who Thinks Eating Protein makes Blood Glucose?

I did not realise this fact/theory when I started low carb and got very irritated by my BG going from 6 to 15 in a short time when all I ate were pork chops, lettuce, cucumber and cheese! I am definitely on the side of injecting for protein! Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Sweet tasting fingers!

Craighunter86 you were right! I am a complete numpty! I have bad hay fever at the moment and grabbed a tissue from my handbag. Breathed in to blow my nose and inhaled a lovely sweet vapour. Problem solved. All I've got to do now is clean out my bag lol Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Frustrated

Just to jump in and let you know my experience... I am T1 and had my son by c-section at 36 weeks ( although was supposed to be 38 but pre-eclampsia got in the way). I know it is a serious op etc etc but my experience with it was fortunately really positive. I was up and walking about the next...

    Sweet tasting fingers!

I have started to low-carb but only down to about 100g a day so didn't think I would be in ketosis. However, just did a ketone test to check and it's come back as LO so below 0.1 so it's not that. Am sure it's not my soap as it's like it all day and am pretty sure it's not an aphid infestation...

    Sweet tasting fingers!

This may sound really odd but..... In the last few days I have noticed that my fingers have a really sweet taste to them when I lick them. Kinda like icing sugar. Has anyone else come across this? I'm a bit freaked out by this as I googled it and it mentions it could be something to do with high...

low carb cereal is there one?

Sounds really good. Next time I hit Tesco I'll have to get the ingredients and see what it does to my sugar level. Am T1 so I'll need to figure how much novo needs to go with it too. I love pineapple it's the best food in the world IMHO but not great for the blood sugar on its own. If this works...

Brunneria, what exactly is in a green smoothie? Sounds good as a breakfast option for someone who hates eggs, yoghurt and cooking :) Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Type 1 + type 1

I'm happily married to a non diabetic but, if I were single, I don't think I'd want a T1 partner. Purely selfish reason really. My diabetes has always been a bit uncontrollable which makes me so cross with myself and I'm very competitive, so I don't think I could stand someone being able to have...

    Kindle e books

I have just finished reading all the St Mary's books. Am now waiting for her to hurry up and write the next one. First one was free but had to buy the rest. What kind of taste do you have in authors? X Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    New type 1 diabetic

This might sound a bit stupid but it worked for me. I used to hold the pen in my fist as close as possible to the needle end and do a countdown 3-2-1 then literally hit myself. The needle went in at the same time as I hit myself so I didn't notice the pain. Pushed the plunger with the other hand...

Why aren't Carbs on the front of food packages?

I'm happy with knowing what's in 100g most of the time but......... What really annoys me is when you know **** well that the whole pack does not weigh 100g and cannot find anywhere visible what the pack actually does weigh. I'm not always near a set of scales Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

My family - people you should not trust with my diabetes (A light hearted look at my family's ideas)

My dad was pretty clueless, bless him. I remember having a hypo one evening when I was about 15. I came to the kitchen and asked him to do me some milk and glucose. Unfortunately what I ended up with was milk and self raising flour. Needless to say it didn't help or taste very good!!! It had...
