    Best fruits

I seem to be ok with pears and plums ... banananananas (never know when to stop spelling that) can sometimes give me a spike so tend to avoid now despite them being my favourite food :(

    Struggling!

@Nikki1111 - I was in a similar place a few months ago - got extremely down but decided there was only me that could do anything about it - cut down on the carbs and the calories and started walking more and lost almost two stones since Christmas and readings are almost always now where they...

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

5.9 at 4.10 and 6.4 at 6.15 ... bedtime reading (23.05) was 5.9, injected 7 units of levemir and had a protein snack (not the one I'd intended to have as wasn't sure about whether I still need to inject or not so took a safer option - 13 carbs and 25 protein and seemed to work pretty well...

Going to try one tonight ... found a protein snack in Sainsburys ... 88 calories, 0.1 fat, 1.8 carbs (1.4 sugar) and 20 protein. Does that sound about right? And do I still do a Levemir injection? reading 20 minutes ago (2 hours after evening meal) was 5.6 so will be intersting to see how it goes.

Last time I saw her I mentioned nighttime hypos and she suggested a slice or two of maltloaf might help to avoid them.

Thanks very much - I'll report back. Only problem is I'm not much of a fan of nuts or cheese so will have to find some other source of protein. Oh, and I don't drive anymore - not because of the diabetes but I hardly ever used my car. Have slowly been reducing insulin doses as well - morning...
