What Regime Did You Use To Achieve Remission? (excl. Lchf And Nd)

I was put straight onto insulin whenI was diagnosed. I then got to the stage where I came off insulin and went onto metforim and have now reached the stage where I'm no longer taking metformin. In my view (and I accept that it's only my view and may not be everybody elses) I was in remission...

    Operation and T2

Try not to worry. I've had three operations under general anaesthetic since I was diagnosed and haven't noticed any adverse effect on my blood sugar levels. Hope all goes well.

Type 2 Sleeping (how Many Hours Did You Sleep Last Night?)

About four and a half - went to bed at half ten, but was well after two before I got to sleep. Think it's with being off work - not tiring the brain out.

What Regime Did You Use To Achieve Remission? (excl. Lchf And Nd)

Thanks. As I said in my initial post, it's mainly down to cutting down on the amount I eat (usually just one meal a day with occasional extended fasts) and getting more exercise (walking six miles a day most days). I've also totally cut out bread and have significantly reduced the amount of...

Type 2 Sleeping (how Many Hours Did You Sleep Last Night?)

Just over 8. Best night's sleep I've had in quite a while, and no trips to the loo!

What Regime Did You Use To Achieve Remission? (excl. Lchf And Nd)

I was diagnosed six years ago whilst in hospital for an operation. Nobody had picked up on it before (though looking back the signs were there) and one of the first questions they asked me after I came round was did I know I was diabetic. I was put straight on insulin (34 units a day of...

What Regime Did You Use To Achieve Remission? (excl. Lchf And Nd)

More exercise and intermittent fasting worked for me - reasonably low carb as well (totally cut out bread and drastically redcued potatoe intake). Walk five or six miles most days and usually eat just one meal a day, but occasionally do extended fasts. Lost four and a half stone, lost six inches...

Not yet, no. Just done water only fasts so far. May give the bone broth a try next time.

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

I managed four days but then started feeling light headed so broke it. All readings in the final 24 hours were in the 4s.

First attempts at fasting - how long to continue first extended fast?

Feeling very light headed this afternoon so have broken the fast after four days, but I was getting excellent readings over the last 24 hours - 4.3 yesterday evening, last night and this morning, and 4.2 this afternoon.

First attempts at fasting - how long to continue first extended fast?

Well into the third day now and still feeling good. Blood sugars are doing well too - 5.2 at 7 this morning and 5.7 about 2 hours ago after a two and a half mile walk. Said walk took me past a few food shops but managed to resist and safely back home without being tempted!
