    Very upset

Of course it doesn't always work, 8 two hours after lunch, 12.5 and heading up 2 and a half hours after lunch. Ar*e!

What could the NHS do to improve type 1 care ?

CGM might be giving them too much help (most diabetics don't get that) just have it throw numbers at them every few hours. Going up? Going down? You work it out! Now that would be a fantastic idea!

What could the NHS do to improve type 1 care ?

Before I got my Libre I was up to every week and a half at one point (200 strips). Many a time I put a prescription in only to be told I wasn't due any yet. Very much not funny if I was running low!

    Very upset

Hi James, other thing to try if it's not your basal is to split your bolus and have half before you eat and the other half either half way through your meal or after it. I have to do that sometimes to avoid going low then high. Even on lower fat meals. As @azure says though everyone has 10s...

What could the NHS do to improve type 1 care ?

You can't just remove people's pancreases you know, it's considered rude....[emoji1]

What could the NHS do to improve type 1 care ?

Going to steal an idea off @slip and his thread. I've always thought it would be useful to be able to "give" your diabetes temporarily to someone so they could see what it was like. The next best thing would be to get the DSNs to manage a volunteers diabetes for a period of time (a week?) Just...

What could the NHS do to improve type 1 care ?

I think having people in surgery who know about diabetes would be a great first step. At our place it's the practise nurse that does the appointments and she's probably been on just one or two courses (nor her fault just not her primary area of expertise). As a result I've asked to be referred...

Type 1: Would you trust your OH whole heartidly with managing your Diabetes for a day?

Yup, I have regular "what do you think I should have with this meal" conversations with my wife. To be honest I might give it a go, I'd probably run better! :)

What to eat for breakfast that has carbs but will not cause BG spikes

Nipped into Sainsbury's on the way to work this morning and found this: Looks like the carbs are pretty good per slice: Might be good for toast!

What to eat for breakfast that has carbs but will not cause BG spikes

I have three rounds of burden soya and linseed bread, 33g carbs for 3 slices. I normally have that with eggs / bacon / 97% sausage. Definitely going to try the protein bread. Especially as they've just opened a waitrose in town!!

    Libre difficulties

Just a thought, do you put yours on the back of your arm (like their instructions say) or on the side (like all of the pictures they provide show)? I always use the back so it gets knocked less....

    Libre difficulties

Personally I find it harder to take off than keep on! The last one took a chunk of skin with it! I do have fairly dry skin though so that might be part of it....

Type 1s: What Is/was Your Blood Sugar This Evening And This Morning ?

9.5 last night woke up at 02:40 at 13 so 2u correction and 8.6 this morning. Think I was still paying for having that pannini for lunch when out shopping, I always say it but sticking to Subway from now on. At least you can get an accurate carb amount from their app!

    HBA1C

Yep I'd agree with this, just ghetto one little one here (2 year old) but my control has been much more difficult since he came along. I think it's a combination of disrupted nights, more stress and just more to worry about in general. All of which has an effect on your diabetes... Oh and...

Most effective way of rotating injection sites?

Cheers all, might give those templates a go. I seem to have radically different bolus acting times for different sites so would be good if I could use the stomach for all meals, I get quite big spikes if I inject in my leg..

Most effective way of rotating injection sites?

Hi All, Just wondering what your take on the best way to rotate injection sites was ie do you change site every injection or inject in one site for a day and then another the next etc...? I snack a fair amount and split my insulin before / after meals so if i change site every time I can be...

Type 1s: What Is/was Your Blood Sugar This Evening And This Morning ?

10.0 at 10 past 10 last night 6.4 this morning. Whether that's too much basal (the drop not the result) or being awake in the night is anyone's guess!
