hi everyone
I am new to the freestyle libre and I love it! Par from one thing! Out of three pods only one has lasted the 14 days. This is because the tape I find keep coming off. Has anyone any tips for keeping it on? Especially sports showers etc??

@Fayefaye1429 Have you reported the ones that fell off to Abbott? They would normally replace them. Otherwise, people use Opsite, Tegaderm, Rock Tape, Kinesiology Tape, sticking plasters, etc to keep them on.

Hi Tim yeh I have and they are sending me a new one they recommended tor bot wow is it expensive though

Hi! I've had my first one on for a week now and noticed the edges peeling last night so have taped it down with 'rock tape' to try and make sure it stays on. I've also ordered a free sample of torbot skin tac adhesive wipes (the MG healthcare website offers a free sample of 2 if you want to try it first) to try for my next one. One of these could help :)

One thing I'd say is that although the edges can start to look ragged, the adhesive is generally (no always, mind) really strong and very few people find they need to stick it down any further than it already is.

Personally I find it harder to take off than keep on! The last one took a chunk of skin with it! I do have fairly dry skin though so that might be part of it....

Yeh no I found mind on my bed the next morning it was completely off

Do you moisturise at all, or have very oily skin? When I apply a new sensor, I have my shower and wait a while to ensure my skin is completely dry, but don't moisturise the area the sensor will go on.

After a while (30 minutes maybe?), I go through the application routine with the alcohol wipe and so on, as per instructions. I always run my finger around the edges as soon as I have applied it to ensure any little fly-away edges have adhered.

I would then resume my moisturising routine of the area after my next shower.

That works for me, but clearly we're all different.

If you neither moisturise, nor consider yourself to have oily skin, I still might wipe the area with witch hazel or something, a few minutes before using the alcohol wipe, to ensure there was no "excess" sebum around the area.

Thank thank you for your thought and breathe. I don't have police skin I'm very lucky skin wise because I don't need to moisturise either. I do the routine you have described so I'm stumped

Me to - I reckon they put super glue on mine, so they don't need any extra help to keep them on. :D

I was worried initially about mine coming off at night because I'm a restless sleeper and also tend to sleep on the arm I use for the sensor.

Just a thought, do you put yours on the back of your arm (like their instructions say) or on the side (like all of the pictures they provide show)? I always use the back so it gets knocked less....

Likewise, always been struggle to get off. Although I do have hairy arms and they rip these off. Blooming hurts!

Although I use Dexcom sensors, I use flexifix tape and Skin tac, and my sensors always stay on for 4+ weeks, and are quite difficult to get off at that point. I sometimes have to neaten up the edges, and patch over, but the sensor themselves, never fall off.
