    New T2 (No meds)

Stay with it , results come with time and you have to be patient. As people say it is a marathon not a sprint but you seem to be well on the journey so congratulations. Keep testing to balance your diet. I avoid bread completely but I have recently tried the Heylo Keto bread range. That works...

Dexcom One + wildly different readings to actual levels

I found a Decom one+ quite accurate when calibrated against fingerprick tests. What I would say is when you first insert the sensor to give it 36 hours for its stabilise as it can give spurious readings, for example my sensor went from 6.8 to 2.3 and back up to 11.8 all in 24 hours, but then it...

    First CGM

That’s great [emoji106]. I’ve calibrated the Dexcom against finger prick test a few times and it’s remarkably accurate actually. I think I’ll probably use it for a few months and then go back to fingerprint test but it’s nice not to be doing that regularly.

    Motivation

After 13 years since diagnosis and managing on diet and exercise, I totally empathise with it being a marathon [emoji106]. The occasional bumps in the road are still tough though when they happen. Sometimes you just need to hear that voice of encouragement [emoji3]

    Motivation

Had a naughty bank holiday weekend and numbers have shot up from 7.1 average to 9.6 average. On diet and exercise with Hba1c test end of October so a setback. Bit fed up but self inflicted and back now on low carb . Assuming it will take a few days to get this glucose out of the system!! Working...

    First CGM

It’s going okay with no problems at all with the sensor breaking off. Found it to be really good in planning meals and seeing what causes spikes. The only issue I’ve had is when I’ve put a replacement sensor on them for first 24 hours it gives strange readings until it settles down so I have to...

    First CGM

Thank you - I’m going to try to experiment with some foods with it. I can go off the rails diet wise occasionally so this I hope, will help me manage and also keep me motivated [emoji106]

    First CGM

Just ordered a Dexcom one plus CGM to help me manage blood sugar levels (currently T2 controlled with low carb and exercise). Any tips on the use of monitors to get the best out of it would be most appreciated. Thanks [emoji106]

    Beer

Mostly drink spirits now with Coke Zero or wine.on a Saturday night. Couple of pints doesn’t seem to impact me BG wise though. Been looking for Michelob Ultra but can’t find it anywhere? Anyone got any ideas where to get it?

Ketones and Glucose both present in urine dip test

I’m not on any meds, pre-diabetic and diet controlled with extensive exercise. I had a large cappuccino and chocolate shortbread at Costa today . Very naughty I know. That would’ve been packed full of carbs on reflection .I normally have some level of ketones in my urine because of a low carb...

Ketones and Glucose both present in urine dip test

On a low-carb/keto diet and run 6 miles a day 5 times a week to manage my T2 and something I noticed has happened today which I’ve not seen before. Did a urine dip test and ketones were showing which is normal for me with this diet , but my glucose reading was also elevated. Never seen this...
