    Baffled

The rises in BG sound very similar to mine. The coffee and cream doesn’t seem to bring my FBG down so I’m giving the cheese a go tomorrow morning, before I take the dogs out. The walk usually helps a little. It will be interesting to see. Thanks for replying

Hello mazza 2, I agree stress is an important factor and it’s true that the high FBG levels I am having do worry me. So your explanation makes sense. Thank you. It’s that never ending search for normality or as near as **** it that I strive for. I guess I should ease off- thinking out loud...

Thanks Chook. Similar to your Liver dump. I recognise the mini hot flush and I am side by side with you on the rest of the day. Correct me if I am wrong but I was under the impression that BG rose sharply if the glucose went too low whilst sleeping. As I don’t have that low blip when I...

    Baffled

And here we go again. Tuesday. No breakfast, well a cup of coffee with unsweetened soya ( nil carbs) I had cheese omelette and a small side salad with coffe and cream about 1pm. Evening meal at 6pm was smoked salmon, a small green salad and a small portion of Mediterranean roast veg...

    The knives are out..

The Daily Mail! Who would even want to read that rubbish. I know from personal experience they just want to sensationalise and make money. If only more people could see through this. British Airways have already stopped loading this paper on board. Shame on Waitrose for offering it free.

Can you help with a discrepancy

Thank you for all your replies. I spoke to my DN today and told her if my concerns, she has requested a fructosamine test for my next review. It’s a start. In the meantime I may splash out on medichecks for comparison. Does anyone know how hard or easy it is to extract a blood sample for...

Can you help with a discrepancy

Hi kitedoc. I guess I would do less finger pricking if the two results correlated. And I would be more relaxed about it all. I also use the Freestyle Libre every so often to give my fingers a rest. I do have a nodule on my thyroid, which the doc doesn’t seem concerned about. Low iron? I’m not...

Can you help with a discrepancy

You are probably right about not worrying about it but still you managed to reverse your type2. This is what I am striving for and thought I was heading that way. 2 years since diagnosis, and not on any medication, I have tried to do it on diet alone. It just seems to have reached a plateau...

Can you help with a discrepancy

Thank you everybody. I guess I was optimistic with my finger pricks and didn’t expect this anomaly in the HbA1c readings. @Bluetit1802, that was very interesting. I may just talk to my doctor and voice my concerns to see if he can help. Although I do not think he may be as knowledgable as the...

Can you help with a discrepancy

Thank you for th Thank you for that. I am quite prolific in testing my blood sugar. If I see it is rising then I will test more. More often than not I will test before bedtime and then of course first thing in the morning. So some days I will be finger pricking up to 10 or 12 times a day...

Can you help with a discrepancy

Morning everyone, Can you help? Discrepancies in Hba1c readings My eight daily blood glucose monitor results give consistent readings of between between 3.5 and 8 (using the Codefree monitor which I believe marks high). My sugar app has averaged this out to 37.4 over the past 6 months or...

Oh My Word! Feedback Received From My Dn

Hi, You are so inspirational Debandez. Thank you for being so proactive ! I have written to Jamie too, but alas, no response so I wish you luck. But I am quite positive he will reply to you. The Brighton Jamie’s have told me they do not have cream there anymore. Strange as I kept up to date...

Boots told to stop selling Libre Sensors to patients!!

I went in to Superdrug this morning. They had a sensor on the shelf and sold it to me for £35. I said I had diabetes. They didn’t ask for proof and did not add VAT. Maybe I was just lucky and they did say they would order some more for me and call me when the sensors come in. Just letting...
