Ah OK, I've only had mine a few months so quite a while past the update.

    Food and blood readings

Libre most definitely is a CGM! I rarely scan, only to activate a new one or in the odd occasion it has a gap in the data

Move from type 2 to Type 1.

Don't be scared. I'm the same as you, originally T2 7 years ago, but Type 1 since late last year, started off on basal only till my bloods came back, then given T1 diagnosis and bolus as well. I still haven't got my head around it, but have had some help from this forum. I have a Libre which has...

    Big difference Libre v fingerprick

I changed my sensor on Thirsday night and for someone this one is reading much higher than my finger prick eg, I've eaten breakfast about one hour ago, will normally get a bit of a spike post food but my Libre is alarming at 15.7, it's 9.6 on fingerprick. I'm not sure if this is just a dodgy...

    Nephropathy despite perfect blood sugars

Its apparently because the test is less accurate over 60 to give a specific number.

    Nephropathy despite perfect blood sugars

If I were you just would get that test repeated. Ig could just be an anomaly, or you could have been dehydrated. Go see your Dr and get it done again?

    Type 1 Novorapid insulin storage

I keep the pen I'm using out of the fridge. Not 100% sure but I think you can keep it out for 28 days before you have to chuck it.

    Will I need insulin eventually?

But you can't blame the HCPs themselves for that, maybe the system we have to work in. Sorry I get massively angry when i read posts moaning about HCPs when behind us is a massive, creaking, inefficient system that let's us all down, patient or HCP. Sure, there are a few bad apples among us but...

    Will I need insulin eventually?

To defend HCPs though, you can only educate a receptive person. Particularly with something like T2 diabetes where so much self management needs to be done. The vast majority of patients are not like those on this forum, who clearly want to learn and self manage and take personal responsibility...

    Type 1.5 Libra sensor malfunction.

I had this the sensor before last so Google told me to switch Bluetooth off and in again then power down my phone and turn it on again. It worked for me!

High blood sugars all of a sudden.

As soon as I got my LADA diagnosis i was put on bolus as well as the basal I had already been taking. I was pretty much like you before I started bolus. Spiking high after meals, taking ages to come down, A1c 3 months after starting basal was 64. However it took me much longer than you to get to...

    Type 2 or LADA?

I think diagnosis can sometimes be an art rather than a science and can't speak for diabetes because I simply don't know, but in inflammatory arthritis, you don't necessarily have the antibodies, and conversely you can also have the culprit antibodies and NOT have any symptoms! Just to confuse...

    Type 2 or LADA?

I work in a different field but all my patients have diagnosed autoimmune inflammatory arthritis. Some have antibodies, some don't. But they all have autoimmune arthritis. The only difference between the cohorts is that those with antibodies tend to have more progressive disease, but the non...

    Recurring oral fungal infections

When my blood glucose was high and around your current level I had horrendous dry mouth and completely dehydrated. Never really has trouble with my teeth before, but have had to have some dental work over the last 3 years. My dentist said it was because my sugars were so high. Started insulin a...

    Podiatry

Much depends on what the problem is. In my area patients with diabetes or inflammatory arthritis are entitled to podiatry but only if they have certain problems. NHS podiatry is free but you do have to meet certain criteria and you would need to speak to your GP to get a referral. Not all...

Has anyone quit using Freestyle Libre?

Yep, and maybe after I have been it as long as you I will also get tired of it, I just feel like it's a godsend at the moment!

Has anyone quit using Freestyle Libre?

I'm only been using it for 8 weeks but I love it,don't find I chase trends or react to anomalies because I've learned already that what goes up comes down again and it let's me nip a hypo in the bud. It's really helped me in learning how to manage my insulin. Plus my fingers don't get sore!

    Moving area!

What normally happens is that you register with your new gp, all your previous records will transfer to your new gp, then he/she will refer you to a new consultant. It's not usually done from consultant to consultant, referrals go via the GP, at least it does in my area.

Metformin accidental overdose.. feeling so stupid..

I would also contact the pharmacy if they have dispensed the wrong dose, if the label says 500mg tablets and the tablets in the box are 1000mg then they have made a serious error and need to investigate.
